HoYoverse has unveiled comprehensive details about Honkai: Star Rail 3.0, set to debut on January 15. This update marks a significant milestone as it commences the game’s third year of expansions, following the Astral Express’s journey through Penacony. Players will now explore the captivating realm of Amphoreus, where they will encounter various characters crucial to advancing the narrative and unlocking the mysteries this alluring location has to offer.
Among the noteworthy introductions in Version 3.0 is the playable Path known as Remembrance. Alongside the existing Erudition Path, Remembrance is one of three major paths associated with Amphoreus. The update will reveal two new characters aligned with this Path: Aglaea, a native of Amphoreus, and the Remembrance Trailblazer. With additional content on the horizon, players can anticipate an engaging experience in Honkai: Star Rail’s upcoming patch.
Honkai: Star Rail 3.0 – Release Date
The Update Arrives in January
The developer has confirmed adherence to its regular six-week update schedule, designating January 15 as the official release date for Version 3.0. This information surfaced during a livestream event on the official Honkai: Star Rail YouTube channel, indicating that the anticipated update remains on track without any delays.
This announcement also dispels previous speculations suggesting that Version 2.7 would be the longest patch before transitioning to Version 3.0. Despite rumors alluding to a potential delay, HoYoverse clarified that the release schedule remains intact, confirming the much-expected update will launch as planned.
Honkai: Star Rail 3.0 – New Characters & Banners
Several Reruns Will Occur During the Update
HoYoverse had previously teased new characters, confirming their roles and abilities well over a month ago. The Herta, a 5-star Ice character following the Erudition Path, excels in multi-target damage. Her abilities enable her to apply up to 42 Interpretation stacks on enemies, with her Enhanced Skill dealing additional damage based on these stacks.
In line with leaked information, The Herta can efficiently transfer Interpretation stacks from weaker foes to the strongest enemy while using her Ultimate ability.
The second new character, Aglaea, hails from Amphoreus and represents the Remembrance Path, dealing Lightning damage. Her gameplay revolves around summoning a memosprite known as Garmentmaker, which assists her by striking marked enemies. As Aglaea gains SPD stacks throughout battles, her Ultimate allows her to elevate her damage output by utilizing the accumulated SPD.
The final character making an appearance is the Remembrance Trailblazer, who deals Ice damage and also summons a memosprite called Mem. By engaging in battles, players can accumulate charges for Mem, who can then provide valuable buffs to allies, enabling them to deal True damage—an innovative mechanic allowing hits to bypass enemy buffs and debuffs.
HoYoverse has also outlined the banner structure for Version 3.0. Phase 1 banners will feature The Herta alongside a triple rerun of Jade, Feixiao, and Lingsha. Phase 2 will showcase Aglaea and a rerun of Boothill, Robin, and Silver Wolf. Increased drop rates will be available for characters like Natasha, Asta, and Moze in Phase 1, while Phase 2 will enhance the chances for obtaining Tignyun, Hanya, and Qingque.
Honkai: Star Rail 3.0 – Amphoreus Story & Map Updates, Events, & More
Amphoreus Will Offer the Majority of the Content in the Update
Amphoreus stands as a central hub of new content within Version 3.0, featuring the Eternal Land with four expansive maps: Abyss of Fate, Okhema, Castrum Kremnos, and Vortex of Origin. Among these, Okhema is expected to be the largest area, functioning as the main city of Amphoreus. Within these maps, players will encounter new enemies, including the Titankins with their unique War Armor mechanics.
As players engage in battle with Titankins, depleting their War Armor will not only reduce their HP but also regenerate some energy for players. Additionally, foes such as Nikador, the Titan avatar, and a cunning chest-stealing enemy will pose new challenges.
Version 3.0 will introduce a new Trailblaze Mission Chapter that follows the Heroic Saga of Flame-Chase. The Trailblazer and Dan Heng will be at the forefront of exploration alongside the Astral Express. Notably, March 7th will embark on a separate journey connected to the Remembrance, temporarily leaving the main quest. Players will assist the Chrysos Heirs in battling Titans and reclaiming Coreflames to restore Amphoreus to its former glory.
HoYoverse announced that new Trailblaze Missions focused on Amphoreus will unfold over the next eight patches, stretching from Version 3.0 to Version 3.7.
A slew of events are set to enrich the gameplay experience in Version 3.0. The flagship event, Hypogeum Enigma, will present multiple game modes offering players Stellar Jade and Self-Modeling Resin as rewards. The Illia Travelogue event encourages exploration of Amphoreus, presenting opportunities for combat against various foes. The Enscrolled Crepusculum event will focus on combat with an exciting new battle mechanic. Additionally, participants in the Gift of Odyssey login event can claim 10 Star Rail Special Passes, alongside Mem’s Gift for another 10 Special Passes and a Variable Dice in Honkai: Star Rail.
New gameplay activities, including a Calyx (Crimson) activity to earn Ascension materials for Remembrance characters and a Cavern of Corrosion introducing two new Relic sets, will also debut. Players can expect enhanced mobility with the introduction of a Flying Amphora mechanic, along with an increase in the daily cap of Trailblaze Power to 300. All upgrade material stages will now be accessible, even if players haven’t yet unlocked them on the map. Finally, the update will launch Treasure Gadget items and introduce a new Leveling Guide.
Furthermore, players logging in during Version 3.0 can expect a complimentary skin for March 7th, titled Nascent Spring, designed exclusively for her Preservation form. An exciting in-game lottery event, Cosmic Lucky Prize, will grant players a chance to win 500,000 Stellar Jade, with additional opportunities to earn free Stellar Jade. Clearly, Honkai: Star Rail 3.0 promises an exciting influx of content, heralding a vibrant start to the new year.
