In the realm of Marvel Comics, Ant-Man, portrayed by Hank Pym and Scott Lang, has made a significant mark as a vital member of the Avengers. These iconic heroes boast the extraordinary ability to manipulate their sizes, transforming into powerful warriors. Emerging from this expansive universe, a new cosplay interpretation presents a darker and more unsettling version of Ant-Man; the character has succumbed to a zombie virus, morphing into a terrifying undead entity, commanding an overwhelming horde of zombie ants with chilling finesse.
The impressive cosplay, crafted by the talented Haunted Cosplay (@hauntedcosplay), not only highlights the artist’s love for this theme but also showcases their admiration for unique concepts. Recently, they have also introduced an innovative design known as Werewolverine, a hybrid character that combines the feral intensity of a werewolf with the iconic traits of Wolverine, elevating the cosplay to an entirely new level of creativity.
Haunted Cosplay is no stranger to bringing eerie characters to life. Their portfolio includes a range of creepy personas, from Pennywise of Stephen King’s “It” fame to the Lipstick Demon from the “Insidious”franchise, and even Bunnymund from DreamWorks’ “Rise of the Guardians.”Their approach often transcends traditional costume making, as they delve into crafting realistic and immersive interpretations of beloved characters.

This particular zombified portrayal of Ant-Man draws inspiration from the original Marvel Zombies series, which debuted in 2005, masterminded by Robert Kirkman and Sean Phillips. Interestingly, the initial depiction of Ant-Man was somewhat misleading, as the character featured at that time was Hank Pym operating as Giant-Man, devoid of the signature Ant-Man costume. However, in “Marvel Zombies: Dawn of Decay” #3, penned by Thomas Krajewski and illustrated by Jason Muhr, we see Scott Lang’s Ant-Man don a zombified form, fully embracing his abilities while showcasing a chilling infected visage. This cosplay magnificently captures Scott Lang’s unrealized undead essence.
Enhancing the impact of the design, Haunted Cosplay incorporates a striking element: a partially destroyed helmet that complements a gruesomely altered face. A standout feature of this version is the heart of the costume—a broken Ant Farm embedded within Ant-Man’s chest. This chilling addition allows swarms of tiny ants to emerge from the gory remains, creating a visually arresting representation that leaves a lasting impression.
Marvel Zombies Deserves a Live-Action Adaptation After Seeing This Ant-Man Cosplay
Concluding this captivating series, photographer Mark (@nycosplayer) presents a hauntingly beautiful black-and-white rendition of Haunted Cosplay’s creation, reminiscent of a “Night of the Living Dead” aesthetic. As the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) continues to expand, the prospect of a live-action interpretation of this superhero zombie apocalypse remains uncertain. However, fans can find solace in the fact that Marvel is set to launch an animated series titled “Marvel Zombies” on Disney+ in October 2025. This upcoming show promises to explore the undead theme in depth, potentially offering Ant-Man a fresh zombified aesthetic—provided they manage to retrieve Scott Lang’s head from its peculiar resting place.
