“I think Ellie knows her behavior. I watched [her apology on] Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, and I really respect Ellie for admitting she was wrong.”
The 59-year-old captain described Dubaich’s behavior on the show as “disturbing,”suggesting that Ellie needs to work on understanding her self-worth and making necessary adjustments. Captain Sandy remarked that Dubaich’s recognition of her standing and her apology on WWHL were pivotal:
“Ellie needs to decide what she thinks about herself. And I think she did on WWHL, and I respect that.”
Typically, Captain Sandy refrains from involving herself in the personal dramas of her crew. However, she shared her insights after observing the unfolding events from her home screen:
“You never know until you watch the show. Because when I walk in the room, everyone’s on their best behavior. Sometimes I choose not to walk in the room so I don’t wanna shift their mood.”
She noted that managing the crew’s issues is not her primary concern, as she has many responsibilities to handle.

Returning for Season 9, Ellie Dubaich has become a key figure on Below Deck Mediterranean.
