Sanctuary of the Guardians Fieldwork in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
Upon reaching Gizeh in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, players will encounter the Sanctuary of the Guardians as their first Fieldwork objective. Enter the blue tent to meet Gina’s acquaintance, which will initiate the main quest revolving around The Idol of Ra and subsequently trigger this Fieldwork challenge.
As Indiana ventures into an area packed with Nazis, known as the Great Sphinx, he must don a worker’s outfit to blend in seamlessly. After securing the outfit and gathering essential gear, players will navigate through the tomb alongside Gina, solving mirror puzzles along the way.
Once you activate the Sanctuary of the Guardians Fieldwork, your map will guide you to the Great Sphinx area to meet with Gina. Here, you will locate a Worker’s outfit inside the tomb entrance. Make sure to read the nearby document to understand your next steps.
To proceed, you will require a golden medallion and a lighter since the tomb is dimly lit. Exit the tomb and follow the map to locate the medallion, ensuring you give a soldier the bottle he requests to avoid raising any suspicions. Then, visit the merchant on the map to purchase the lighter, which will serve as your source of light within the tomb.
Make sure to retrieve the lighter before returning to the tomb, as Gina will express concerns over the darkness when you re-enter.
After activating the first lever and discovering it sets off a trap, utilize the whip on the hook above, then carefully descend into the hole directly beneath the hook you pulled. Crawl through it and use the whip again to access the higher platform. Continue your exploration with Gina until you encounter a mirror puzzle.
How to Solve the First Mirror Puzzle in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
While photographing a locked gold mask, you’ll uncover an essential clue indicating that it is secured by a light-controlled mechanism. Your objective is to direct light onto the two light-sensitive discs situated near the stairs below the gold mask.
Four mirrors are located in the area—two near the entrance and two positioned by the throne—and they will be crucial in your setup.
Start by adjusting the mirrors located farther from the entrance, ensuring that (1) reflects light towards (3) and (2) reflects light towards (4).
Next, turn to the entrance mirrors and direct the light onto the discs located near the gold mask. Direct (4) towards (5) and (3) towards (6). After this, a cutscene will trigger, placing Indy and Gina in a room filled with scorpions, requiring them to escape.
How to Find a Way Out in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
Use the lighter to ignite Gina’s torch—she can then use it to ward off the scorpions. Next, pull the nearby chains to reveal a room filled with debris and retrieve the torch located next to a skeleton. Light it up to proceed. Gina will point out a compromised wall that could serve as your escape route.
With effective protection against the scorpions, make your way to the opposite side of the room, where you’ll find a concealed door with a torch holder. Position the torch there before pulling the lever hidden behind the column. Enter the newly opened room to acquire a heavy metal weapon, then return to Gina and break through the wall. Continue through the scorpion-filled area until you encounter the next puzzle.
How to Solve the Statue of Light Puzzle in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
This subsequent mirror puzzle, known as the Statue of Light, is more straightforward than the previous one. The key objective here is to direct light onto the two discs situated on the statue in the center of the room.
As you approach the central mirror, shine the light beam onto the top right mirror. Unfortunately, the door is malfunctioning, leading Indy to assist Gina in climbing through a gap. She will slide a mirror under the door for you to use.
Return to the mirror and adjust it to shine on the top left mirror to unlock the room. Collect the mirror and position it on the pedestal to illuminate the statue’s disc. To activate the second disc, guide the light beam outside and reflect it onto the mirror Gina is holding. Completing this action will solve the Statue of Light puzzle.
Continue your exploration until you reach another room infested with scorpions where a single light beam awaits. Assist Gina yet again so she can manage the light beam to provide Indy with protection. Ascend the damaged column and leap onto the ledge, sliding toward the right. Use the whip to swing across to the opposite side, and then ascend the stairs to reunite with Gina.
Proceed forward to collect the Protector Stele before finally exiting the tomb. A cutscene will play, concluding the Sanctuary of the Guardians Fieldwork quest.
