Each tablet holds Latin phrases that Indy translates, revealing critical information for the next steps in the quest. Players must manipulate the Dragon statues, aligning them correctly, to proceed with the primary storyline of the Great Circle.

Journey to the Vatican Gardens

This puzzle becomes available after progressing through the main storyline of the Great Circle and retrieving the Ancient Parchment from the Tomb of the Warrior Giant. Following this, Antonio will guide Indy to investigate the Fountain Of Confession, rumored to be a concealed entrance to the sacred monastery of the Nephilim order. The location is conveniently situated near the Vatican Gardens, just a short walk from the Belvedere Courtyard. Players should remain vigilant for any guards that might see through Indy’s disguises, whether he wears clerical or Blackshirt attire.

To reach the fountain, utilize fast travel to the Belvedere Courtyard, then proceed west towards the Vatican Gardens. Pass the checkpoint adjacent to a Blackshirt encampment. Ascend the pathway to the right that leads toward the Sistine Chapel until you reach the stairs. At the top, the Fountain of Confession awaits, ready to begin the puzzle.

Solving the Fountain of Confession Puzzle: Part 1

Positioning the Dragons

To initiate the puzzle, photograph the inscriptions located on either side of the fountain. Indy will translate these Latin phrases to provide clues concerning the positioning of the dragon statues above the fountain. You need to rotate the Light and Dark Dragons so they face each other, unlocking access to the hidden sacred monastery. If you encounter trouble with the puzzles, consider reducing the difficulty to Light Mode, which will provide additional hints.

Use Indy’s whip to navigate through the storage room and reach the balconies where the Light and Dark Dragon statues are positioned. Locate the Fountain Gate Key in a nearby chest and access the storage room. Ascend the window to reach the first dragon statue, which can’t be rotated until Indy retrieves the dragon claw from the scaffolding nearby. Grabbing the claw will trigger a cutscene featuring Gina without her Nun disguise. Return to the scaffolding to reattach the Light Dragon Claw and adjust the statues appropriately, thereby opening the fountain and progressing the puzzle.

Solving the Fountain of Confession Puzzle: Part 2

Opening the Gate

With the gate now visible, your next challenge is to unlock it. Start by pulling the handle revealed in the fountain to rotate the gate, which will reveal a statue of a child alongside a priest statue. To perform the necessary baptism, fill the priest’s bucket with water by utilizing Indy’s whip on the hook situated near the gate’s top and yanking it down. Position the statues so that the priest’s bucket tips over, cascading water onto the child statue, thus completing the first phase of the puzzle.

Next, activate the following handle in the fountain to rotate the gate again. This reveals a turntable puzzle where you must guide a boat to cross to the opposite side of the gate. Use Indy’s whip on the hooks to maneuver the boat left or right while ensuring any wooden barriers are cleared from its path. Once you succeed in moving the boat to the adjacent side of the wall, the Fountain of Confession puzzle will be complete, allowing you to resume your adventures in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
