In Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, players face a captivating challenge within the Game Room located inside the hidden pyramid of Sukhothai. This unique room greets adventurers immediately upon entering the pyramid, yet its puzzle mechanics are not well delineated, often leading to confusion and requiring some external guidance to master.

The puzzle’s complexity arises from the interaction of multiple doors, each activated by different pegs on the game board. It’s not just about solving the puzzle, but also understanding its narrative significance. Many players, including myself, find that while the solution can be straightforward, grasping its relevance within the game’s storyline can be much more perplexing.

Understanding the Mechanics of the Board Game

Maneuvering L-Shaped Pegs to Progress

Game Room in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

Referred to as the Nephilim Game, this board game in the Game Room challenges players to exercise their patience and keen observation skills. Upon entering the pyramid with characters Indy and Gina, players encounter a perplexing board at the heart of the room. The pieces consist of various shapes, with some resembling hooked L-shaped constructs while others are short and squat. Additionally, players will discover two extra pegs tucked away in an alcove on the left side, crucial for accessing a hidden panel.

The layout of the peg board is structured in a 3-5-5-5-3 pattern, featuring six small pegs and four L-shaped pegs to occupy the available slots. Initially, players will find three pegs—including two from the wall—used to tackle the first challenge, after which three more pegs become accessible. A pivotal aspect of gameplay is manipulating the small pegs; moving one causes the adjacent L-shaped pegs to rotate 90 degrees counterclockwise. The objective is to direct all L-shaped pegs to face strategic orientations corresponding to specific puzzle elements.

Solving the Game Room Puzzle

Aligning Statuettes and Pegs

The Game Room puzzle comprises two key sections. Initially, players must orient all L-shaped stones to the right to unlock access to additional small pegs. Subsequently, the challenge shifts to positioning these L-shaped pegs towards the front, aligning them with the central statue. Upon entry, one small peg is already in place on the board, while the additional stones reside in the alcove to the left.

To begin, you will need to remove the existing stone to reset the board for the first segment. Arrange the stones in a diagonal through the center; with each correct movement, ensure that all L-shaped pegs face right toward the wall panel, which will then unlock, revealing three more pegs. Collect these pegs and clear the board again to reset.

In the next phase, the objective changes to aligning all L-shaped pegs towards the statue at the room’s front. This requires all six pegs to be set in a zig-zag formation through the game’s center. Specifically, there will be two movable pegs in each row, flanking the foremost L-shaped peg while ensuring two align beside the left-most peg in the center and two near the lowest peg.

Once all pegs are oriented correctly towards the statue, a hidden message will be revealed as the statue shifts aside. Players should take note of this message – capturing a photo is essential to resolve the Game Room puzzle within Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
