Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Trailer Highlights Enhanced Combat and Platforming Elements

MachineGames’ Indiana Jones and the Great Circle recently unveiled a new trailer (via IGN) during the Xbox’s Tokyo Game Show livestream. This trailer offers a deeper look at gameplay mechanics and features Japanese voice acting. While details were limited, the first-person combat appears satisfying and impactful, showcasing Indy’s ability to take down enemies with effective melee strikes.

The gameplay also incorporates elements of first-person platforming, which seamlessly transitions into a third-person perspective, especially when swinging the whip through ancient ruins. Taking place between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade, The Great Circle follows Indiana Jones as he investigates a mysterious phenomenon.

Players can expect a globe-trotting adventure as Indy travels through stunning locations such as the Himalayas, Egypt, and Rome. Although there will be some gunfights, the developer emphasizes that firearm use is not encouraged; instead, players will rely on hand-to-hand combat, stealth tactics, and clever problem-solving to overcome challenges. Indy also has numerous abilities to unlock, enhancing gameplay and allowing exploration of optional areas that were previously cleared.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is set for launch on December 9th for Xbox Series X/S and PC, with Premium and Collector’s Edition purchasers receiving three days of early access. The game will also be available on PS5 in Spring 2025.
