Indiana Jones & The Great Circle: A Guide to Accessing the Giant’s Tomb

Gaining access to The Giant’s Tomb is crucial for progressing in the main storyline of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. After completing the tutorial, players discover a thrilling mystery that kicks off with a giant intruding on Indy’s office at Marshall College, stealing an ancient artifact. This adventure compels you to unravel a series of clues, ultimately leading you to the Vatican where you reunite with Indy’s ally, Antonio. He guides you toward the hidden Giant’s Tomb located beneath the Tower of Nicholas V.

To advance in the mission titled “The Stolen Cat Mummy,” players must infiltrate this enigmatic ruin. Your journey involves solving intricate puzzles, which subsequently unlock a substantial portion of the Vatican map. During your exploration, an array of new items will come to light, including Ancient Relics and other valuable collectibles. The following guide outlines the essential steps needed to access The Giant’s Tomb in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Entry to the Tower Of Saint Nicholas

The Altar & Mural Puzzle

Upon receiving your mission from Antonio, proceed to the Tower of Nicholas V. Descend to the basement level where you’ll encounter a chapel-like chamber adorned with two statues and crowned by a stone altar featuring a grand relief. This artwork, known as the “Strange Mural,”illustrates Saint Michael in a battle against a demon. To engage with the altar, pour wine into the basin located in front of it and observe the central disc of the relief begin to tremble.

Following this, approach the rotating disc. The goal is to align it so that Saint Michael is positioned upright while the demon is at the bottom. Once aligned correctly, the door will slide open, allowing you to descend the spiral staircase. This action unlocks the Underworld Map. Given the darkness of this area, be sure to collect a candlestick from the altar and use it to light the braziers scattered around for better visibility.

Exploring the Underworld

The First Gate

Follow the narrow path deeper into the underworld. You will find a torch along the wall; switch your candlestick for this torch and make sure to light it. Continue until you reach a gate that is closed off with no visible mechanism for opening it. On your left, you should notice another torch in a sconce. Ignite this torch and then place your lit torch into the corresponding sconce across the room. The flames will cascade into the next chamber, triggering the gate to open.

The Sacred Wounds Mural

Advancing forward, you will discover a fresco known as the Sacred Wounds Mural, featuring Jesus on the cross. Pay attention to the Roman numerals present on this mural, along with the basin situated beneath it, similar to the one at the altar. Approach the basin and pour wine into it, causing levers to emerge beneath each numeral. However, these levers can’t be utilized just yet.

Before proceeding, survey the room and take note of the various artworks that surround you. Each artwork has its own basin. The task here is to fill each basin with wine, examine the liquid for the revealed Roman numerals, and match these numbers with the corresponding figures depicted in the Sacred Wounds Mural. Align each lever to its respective numeral. If you have difficulty reading Roman numerals, rest assured that Indy will assist you.

Be alert: you’ll need to break through the wall adjacent to the Spear of Longinus statue to escape the room, as the entrance swiftly closes behind you. You may also need to crawl through a narrow opening in the wall to reach the Anointment piece. After accomplishing this, the door will rotate to create an exit.

As you continue along the passage, consider making a move to the right. Jumping into a small fissure will lead you to a secret chamber containing a page from an Explorer’s Journal. Utilize your whip on the area above the exit to break free. If you drop down into the following area, a second journal page can be located by crawling through another narrow space.

Locating & Accessing The Giant’s Tomb

Acquiring the Burial Chamber Key

Eventually, you will reach a chamber dominated by a massive well. On its far side, a skeleton can be seen grasping the Burial Chamber Key. Collect the key, then retrace your steps, leaping over the chasm until you arrive at the gate leading to the Burial Chamber. This marks your entry into The Giant’s Tomb.

The Shield Puzzle

Watch the unfolding cutscene, and you will finally obtain the fabled item you’ve sought: the Warrior Giant’s Parchment. With this pivotal moment behind you, you’re now primed to take on the next stage of the main quest in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: the challenge of exiting The Giant’s Tomb.
