Before embarking on the “Capturing the Thief“quest, players must successfully complete “Forced Perspective: Caged Bird,”the first quest in this series. This initial mission introduces players to the mechanics of “Forced Perspective,”ensuring they are well-prepared for subsequent challenges.

Following the completion of “Caged Bird,”head over to the Kingdom Guard’s Office to find Toran. Upon meeting him, he will reveal his struggles with capturing a criminal in the area and enlist Nikki’s help to solve the dilemma. Together with Momo, players must assist Toran by cleverly framing the scene to depict the thief being apprehended.

To fulfill Toran’s request, players should:

  1. Locate the Thief Warrant Poster on the eastern side of the building.
  2. Position Nikki in front of the poster, ensuring the fence aligns between her and the building.
  3. Open the camera and take a snapshot to create the illusion that the poster is behind bars.

Be attentive to the appearance of a golden camera reticle which indicates that your shot is ready to count.

If you experience challenges in getting the reticle to appear, consider adjusting the camera settings: set the aperture to f/16, and disable effects related to NPCs and Eureka for a clearer image. This might require some trial and error. Additionally, adjusting the in-game time on your Run, Pear Pal to 10:00 could also help in capturing the right angle.
