This new intellectual property (IP) was the highlight of The Game Awards 2024, showcasing Naughty Dog’s expansion into the sci-fi action-adventure genre.

Set in an alternate timeline where advanced space travel became a reality in 1986, the narrative revolves around Jordan A. Mun, a skilled bounty hunter navigating this unique universe. Although the trailer did not offer gameplay footage, it indicates that Intergalactic will adopt a third-person perspective and emphasize melee combat mechanics.

Additionally, frustrations stemming from The Last of Us Part 2 have led some fans to doubt Naughty Dog’s capability to deliver a captivating new IP, with certain comments harshly comparing Intergalactic to the ill-fated Concord, another sci-fi title that was discontinued shortly after its launch.
