Internet Reacts to TenZ’s Return to CS2: “Bro, Just Like Me,” But Things Didn’t Go as Planned

Gaming sensation TenZ recently announced his retirement from professional Valorant, leaving his fanbase nostalgic and somewhat disheartened. However, this does not mean he will quit playing games. In fact, it seems that TenZ has decided to go back to his roots and try his hand at Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) again. Of course, the game is much different than when he was a pro player.

Now a content creator for Sentinels, TenZ recently streamed his CS2 gameplay, and like many players, he couldn’t quite get his grip strong right off the bat. He missed several shots in one clip, prompting X user @brand0n210 to comment on the relatable video:

“bro just like me frfr”

The clip was posted by popular content creator Jake Lucky on X. In the video, TenZ can be seen going down Mid on Mirage and whiffing multiple shots, even calling himself “terrible”at one point. One user, @imafisher, blamed his Valorant-trained aim for all the errors.

The two games could not be further apart. While Valorant is a newer game in the FPS hero shooter sub-genre, Counter-Strike 2 is a tactical FPS game. Naturally, TenZ would face some issues settling back in. Regardless, @espNOToxic seemed sure that the aim was why TenZ kept away from the game, stating:

“Bruh that’s why he played Valorant”

However, others recognized how impressive the player’s gameplay and aim are even in a different game. User @Lion_2812 believed that it was CS2’s fault and not TenZ that all those shots missed:

“I am 0.0000001% of his skill and I SWEAR THAT HAPPENS TO ME. Thank god is not me just being bad. In GO I swear I would’ve hit my USP shots more often. Thank you TenZ for showcasing this game is broken as f**k”

Finally, user @ItsJustFreshh felt that TenZ is just as good at CS2 as he is in Valorant and is a brilliant player across FPS games. However, it is difficult to gauge his performance based on one short clip of him whiffing shots.

TenZ began his journey as a CS:GO professional, working with several teams, including Cloud9. However, he eventually shifted his focus to Valorant, where he achieved considerable success, winning multiple Masters trophies with his team, Sentinels.

On September 15, 2024, TenZ officially announced his retirement as a pro in Valorant. However, he remains with his team as a content creator. As for his future plans, they remain largely unknown. Nevertheless, his current play in CS2 does not necessarily indicate any professional aspirations moving forward.
