Patience has been a virtue for fans of Wanda Maximoff. Following the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, many supporters of Elizabeth Olsen began to worry that her character might be departing from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, the arrival of Agatha All Along offered a glimmer of hope.
After the conclusion of WandaVision, audiences were eager to see more of Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness. Although the initial series left her under Wanda’s control in Westview, the creative talents of Jac Schaeffer managed to bring our beloved Agatha back into the spotlight through a new Disney+ series. With every new installment released, it has become increasingly evident that Wanda remains an integral part of this narrative.
**Warning: Spoilers for Agatha All Along ahead**
In the latest episode, Teen (played by Joe Locke) finally confronted Agatha, using his powers in response to the traumatic death of Alice during the trial. While Alice’s death wasn’t entirely her fault, it left a significant impact on Teen. During this trial, he mentioned the name Nicholas Scratch, which appeared to confirm Agatha’s suspicion that Teen—whom she referred to as her “pet” —was not actually her son.
Agatha makes it abundantly clear that Teen is “just like your mother,” indicating he is Wiccan and, by extension, Wanda Maximoff’s child. Now, let’s connect the dots: We have no definitive evidence that Wanda is deceased. While Agatha All Along hinted at her demise in the premiere, Agatha also humorously suggested that the dead don’t often stay that way. Considering the reveal of Wiccan, could this imply that we might see Wanda’s return before this series wraps up? I believe so.
Let me indulge in my Wanda delusion.
For quite some time, I have held on to the hope of witnessing the Scarlet Witch’s return. Personally, it seems unjust that I would finally see my beloved Scarlet Witch only for her to meet her end shortly after. The Multiverse of Madness left many fans frustrated with Wanda’s fate, so her anticipated return could serve as a much-needed resolution.
WandaVision holds a special place in my heart, and it feels unsettling to see the success of Agatha All Along unfold without Wanda in its mix. In the comics, Agatha is significantly linked to Wanda’s quest to reuniting with her twins. What if this series flipped that narrative, presenting a storyline where the twins are on a mission to rescue their mother? That could provide a fresh and engaging take on the source material.
Currently, we see Wiccan sporting a similar diadem to what Wanda wears. It’s an impressive and fitting detail that makes me excited. I sincerely hope to see further development of Billy’s storyline alongside his connection to Wanda in future episodes. If this culminates in Wanda Maximoff’s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it would be a welcome development.
At this point, I remain optimistic about Wanda’s reappearance. The only dilemma is whether it will be in Agatha All Along or within another upcoming narrative.
