Kandi Burruss, widely recognized for her involvement in Real Housewives of Atlanta, embodies a versatile talent. After announcing her departure from the series, Kandi revealed her aspirations to delve into other projects and interests. She officially announced her exit during the 2024 Grammys.

On February 4, 2024, in a candid interview with Variety editor Marc Malkin, Kandi stated:

“I’m not really keeping up right now. I decided I’m not coming back this year. It’s been 14 seasons, and they allowed us to sit around for a little too long, but during that time I had started working on a lot of other things, and I got some nice big projects coming soon, so I’m super excited about those things.”

Prior to her time on Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kandi was already a notable figure in the music industry, having won a Grammy Award in 2000 for “No Scrubs”and receiving a nomination for “Bills, Bills, Bills.”In the summer of 2024, she toured with her Xscape bandmates, performing in 30 U.S. cities as part of their Queens of R&B tour.

As a producer, Kandi has been increasing her involvement in Broadway shows alongside her husband Todd. Reports indicate that they are set to produce a significant project featuring Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal.

“It made me feel, like, ‘Wow.’ I’m glad we have this relationship, and I didn’t leave on a bad note. We still have that relationship. She said they still support each other, and she feels they have a friendship. I’m glad it’s that way.”
