Kodak Black Challenges Trump’s Immigrant Claims: “I Ain’t See No Haitian Eat No Cat”

Kodak Black Challenges Trump’s Immigrant Claims: “I Ain’t See No Haitian Eat No Cat”

Rapper Kodak Black has publicly addressed Donald Trump’s controversial remarks claiming that Haitian immigrants were eating pets in Ohio, during a recent concert in Columbus. These unsupported allegations were made by the former President during the Presidential debate against Kamala Harris on September 12, 2024.

At the concert, Kodak Black played a clip featuring Trump’s statement:

“Of course I’m angry. We got 21 million people that came into our country invading our communities, invading our cities and our towns, and destroying our country. I’m angry about Venezuelan gangs taking over Aurora, Colorado, and I’m angry about illegal Haitian migrants taking over Springfield, Ohio. You see that mess, don’t you?” said Donald Trump.

Responding to Trump’s assertion that the immigrants were consuming the pets of Springfield residents, the rapper who has Haitian roots said:

“That sh*t true? Man, I ain’t gonna lie, homie, I’m a muthaf**king Trump supporter.”

Despite facing boos from the audience for his support of Trump, Kodak Black continued:

“I’m finna go to Springfield tomorrow, I’m going over there. I gotta see this sh*t. I ain’t smelling that. I ain’t see no Haitian eat no cat, homie. When y’all show me a Haitian eating a cat, then y’all can say that sh*t.”

However, Kodak Black emphasized that he wasn’t changing his political stance. While expressing skepticism about Trump’s claims, he remarked:

“I feel like we f**ked anyway. I ain’t with that Kamala Harris sh*t either. What the f**k going on in America?”

Trump’s peculiar claim regarding Haitian immigrants consuming cats and dogs originates from a social media post in which an Ohio resident stated that her neighbor’s friend’s daughter lost a cat, later discovering it hanging from a branch.

This information was rapidly distorted into a narrative attacking Haitian immigrants. In an interview with NBC News (reported on September 13, 2024), the Ohio resident expressed her astonishment at how the news escalated and clarified that she never intended for it to be misconstrued. She has since deleted her Facebook post.

“It [the news] just exploded into something I didn’t mean to happen. I feel for the Haitian community. If I was in the Haitians’ position, I’d be terrified, too, worried that somebody’s going to come after me because they think I’m hurting something that they love and that, again, that’s not what I was trying to do,”explained the Ohio resident.

Rappers Lil Wayne and Kodak Black were among over 140 individuals pardoned by Donald Trump on his final day in office in 2021. Kodak Black was sentenced to four years in prison in 2019 for making a false statement in order to purchase a firearm.

The White House officially pardoned his conviction, highlighting him as a “prominent artist and community leader,”as reported by BBC.

“He has committed to supporting a variety of charitable efforts, such as providing educational resources to students and families of fallen law enforcement officers and the underprivileged,”explained White House officials in January 2021.

Additionally, they noted that Kodak Black had contributed $50,000 to struggling small businesses in his Florida hometown following the COVID-19 pandemic. He also funded daycare centers, provided food to those in need, and supplied notebooks and other essentials to school children. The rapper took initiatives to help underprivileged children during the Christmas season as well.
