Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered offers new players a chance to immerse themselves in two iconic stories from the Legacy of Kain series. After successfully defeating Rahab in Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, the protagonist, Raziel, gains a crucial new ability: swimming through water without reverting to the Spectral Realm. This newfound skill unlocks various exploration avenues in the game.

With this ability, players can discover powerful Glyphs, increase their health and energy, and progress the storyline. However, one significant item should be prioritized post-acquisition of the swimming ability: the Fire Reaver.

After Rahab’s defeat, players should navigate back to the stained glass window they previously shattered to exit the abbey. The lower level of this building is flooded, but with the ability to swim, players can easily dive in. Starting from the middle of the west side, swim eastward to locate another submerged stained glass window. By using a projectile to break this window, players will reveal a long spiral staircase.

Upon reaching the bottom, they will encounter an egg that will hatch into one of Rahab’s offspring, along with numerous other eggs scattered throughout the area. Keep the left wall in sight until you face the southern wall; then turn left. Those who venture too far will reach a gate, so it’s vital to follow the southern wall carefully to locate a small opening leading down another stairwell.

This time, follow the east wall where you’ll discover another stained glass window. Shatter it and proceed along the path to find an elemental forge. Interacting with this forge will transform Raziel’s Wraith Blade into the fiery, flame-colored Fire Reaver. With this upgrade, firing projectiles will unleash powerful fireballs, inflicting damage on aware enemies, while swiftly defeating any unsuspecting foes.

Utilizing the Fire Reaver in Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver

Whenever players encounter a significant source of fire, they can channel the Fire Reaver by igniting their Wraith Blade. These large, fiery sources are present in many unexplored areas of the game, including the realm of Dumah. This function allows players to leverage fire strategically, greatly facilitating their progress through the game. However, it’s essential to remember that if the Fire Reaver touches water, it will extinguish, reverting to its Wraith Blade form.
