Sean “Diddy” Combs was apprehended by federal authorities on September 16 at the Park Hyatt Hotel in New York City. He faces serious charges including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, as well as transportation to engage in prostitution according to an unsealed grand jury indictment.
The following day, he was brought before the Manhattan Federal Court, where his request for bail was denied despite his “not guilty”plea. Prosecutors emphasized that he posed a “significant flight risk.”
Diddy was again denied bail during a hearing on Thursday and will remain in federal custody until his trial commences.
In light of Diddy’s ongoing legal issues, his son Christian “King” Combs’ former publicist, Linda Luna, expressed her support for the Bad Boy Records founder on Facebook.
“I’ve been around Diddy many times. I’ve attended his parties and after-parties and I’ve never witnessed what they are alleging. However, I feel like he may have been attempting to change over the past year, but it seems it was too late, and his past actions have now come to light, requiring him to face consequences,” she stated.
The publicist went on to say that there are “worse” perpetrators in power within the industry compared to Diddy, expressing hope for the rapper’s redemption and adding:
“No one is beyond God’s grace and mercy.”
Unfortunately, Linda Luna’s now-deleted post garnered significant backlash, with many on Instagram criticizing her for complicating Diddy’s situation further while questioning her public relations skills.
Others continued to criticize Linda Luna for her comments regarding Diddy.
Delving Deeper into Linda Luna’s Comments on Diddy
Linda Luna, who has previously represented Sean Combs’ sons Christian and Justin, shared her thoughts on Diddy’s current legal troubles on September 18, labeling it as “truly so unfortunate.”
In her statement, the Hollywood publicist recounted her numerous experiences with Sean Combs at various events, noting that she had never witnessed “what they are claiming.”
She indicated that Diddy seemed to be making attempts to change over the last year, but unfortunately, his “past transgressions” had caught up with him.
“Let’s remember, no one is beyond God’s grace and mercy. Hopefully, he will find redemption and, if it is God’s will, he’ll get an opportunity to rectify his wrongs with those impacted by his actions,” Luna stated.
She went on to assert:
“Even if not, may his consequences serve as a proactive example for change in the industry, especially towards women, as there are numerous other powerful men I have observed engaging in worse behavior, if not similar to the allegations outlined in this case.”
Linda Luna concluded by requesting blessings for Sean Combs, his victims, and his family, insisting they all deserve justice regarding the truths in this situation. She also requested “mercy” for those “casting stones or judgmental opinions.”
However, in response to the intense backlash, the founder of Powerhouse Agency clarified her statements.
“This was a private conversation with family on my personal Facebook. Unfortunately, my comment was shared publicly. It was never intended to be an official or professional statement,” she explained.
It’s worth noting that Christian “King” Combs attended the Manhattan Federal Court prior to his father’s arraignment and requested to read aloud the 14-page indictment against Diddy. He was supported by seven other individuals who made similar requests. King later sat in an orange chair in the court and read the entire document.
For those unfamiliar, Diddy’s eldest son was implicated in a lawsuit earlier this year, where he was accused of sexual assault by the plaintiff Grace O’ Marcaigh, along with his father. At that time, Christian’s lawyer Aaron Dyer labeled the allegations as “manufactured lies and irrelevant facts.” Notably, King has not been mentioned in the recent federal indictment.
