Marc Agnifilo: Diddy’s Attorney Speaks Out Following Rapper’s NYC Arrest

Hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs was taken into custody by federal agents on September 16 at the Park Hyatt Hotel located on West 57th Street in Manhattan, New York City, following a grand jury indictment. At this point, specific charges against him remain under wraps.

“Earlier this evening, federal agents arrested Sean Combs based on a sealed indictment filed by the SDNY (Southern District of New York). We anticipate moving to unseal the indictment in the morning and will provide further details at that time,” stated United States Attorney Damian Williams during a press briefing.

In response, Diddy’s attorney Marc Agnifilo expressed their disappointment with the situation and characterized it as an “unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.”

“Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a music icon, a self-made entrepreneur, a loving family man, and a dedicated philanthropist who has devoted the last 30 years to building an empire, cherishing his children, and improving the Black community. While he is an imperfect person, he is not a criminal,” Agnifilo emphasized.

Moreover, Agnifilo noted that Diddy has been “cooperative with this investigation” and had “voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges.” He concluded with a statement affirming his client’s innocence, asserting that Diddy has “nothing to hide” and that his legal team is eager to “clear his name in court.”

On a recent Monday evening, the FBI apprehended Sean “Diddy” Combs at a luxury hotel in Manhattan, where he had been residing for several weeks amidst an unsealed grand jury indictment. The specifics of the accusations against him have yet to be revealed.

During that operation, agents seized firearms and various electronic devices from both properties, and several of Diddy’s associates, including his sons Justin and Christian Combs, were detained for questioning.
