Mark Cuban Explains Why Harris Campaign Avoided Talking to Elon Musk

Mark Cuban promptly addressed a misleading article title concerning his attempts to arrange a discussion between Kamala Harris and Elon Musk.

An article from The Hill stated, “Cuban claims Harris campaign declined a live X interview with Musk.”The text indicated that Cuban was willing to “attempt to facilitate”a meeting between Vice President Kamala Harris and Elon Musk. However, the headline inaccurately suggested that Harris had rejected an interview with Musk.

Taking to Twitter, Cuban clarified, “No. That’s not what I said. I mentioned I asked them if they would engage in a conversation with Elon. They expressed interest but didn’t trust him to keep the content of the discussion private on X.”Cuban aimed to arrange a direct meeting rather than a public interview that could be shared on social media. He has been outspoken in his criticism of Trump while actively supporting Harris’ campaign efforts. Cuban’s engagement in the campaign has been clear.

Is Harris Afraid?

Despite Cuban’s clarification, other Twitter users critical of Harris proposed their theories. A response to Cuban noted, “So the headline should say, ‘Harris’s campaign rejected even discussing with Elon because they were afraid?’” Cuban replied, “Afraid, no. Didn’t trust him to maintain confidentiality, yes.”

Some users accused Harris of fearing unscripted dialogues or concealing information she ought not to.

Tensions have escalated between Harris and Trump, with the latter routinely disparaging the Vice President during rallies and online. Meanwhile, Musk has openly endorsed Trump, which naturally raises concerns from the Harris camp—particularly because Musk has made several jokes referencing Harris being assassinated.

Furthermore, in any private discussion, it is typically understood that the exchanged sentiments remain confidential. Regardless of the specifics communicated between Harris and Musk—be it campaign strategies or personal matters—such dialogue is expected to be kept secret.
