An Epic Team of Cosmic Guardians Assembled by the Phoenix
A Vital New Adventure with Captain Marvel, Rocket Raccoon, Nova, and Sif
Jean Grey’s quest to reclaim her identity as the Phoenix and establish it as a force for good has taken her deep into the cosmos. Despite her well-meaning intentions, the destructive legacy of the Phoenix Force has instilled considerable fear within the ruling Galactic Council. This concern is exacerbated by Jean’s previous corruption under the Dark Phoenix persona. The Shi’ar warrior Gladiator has leveraged her recent victory against Gorr the God Butcher to persuade the Council to grant Perrikus the freedom to challenge Jean, while simultaneously appointing the ruthless Thanos as the head of the Galactic Council.
“How are we supposed to stop an armada, armies, a big purple troll who now has unlimited psychic potential AND a Dark God?”The alarming situation escalates as Thanos begins to subjugate various planets across the galaxy, utilizing his formidable armies, the Black Order, and Perrikus’ support, highlighting the urgency of Jean’s mission.
Though Jean has attained a heightened status akin to that of other cosmic entities such as Eternity and the In-Betweener, defeating Thanos in direct combat remains a formidable challenge. Fortunately, Jean is not alone in this fight: her newly formed Guardians are set to counter Thanos’ oppressive regime. Nova, appointed as the protector of space, was the first to join Jean, quickly followed by Sif, Rocket, and Carol. Each member brings unique strengths—Captain Marvel’s extensive history of saving galaxies, Rocket’s penchant for daring missions, and Sif’s quest for vengeance against Perrikus, who once nearly annihilated Asgard.
Can This New Guardians of the Galaxy Defeat Thanos?
Thanos Must Be Stopped Before He Conquers the Universe
Thanos has amassed even greater mystical powers, bolstered by the support of the Galactic Council, rendering him a more terrifying foe than ever. Upcoming issues of Phoenix indicate that Perrikus intends to unleash his full arsenal of Dark Gods in his confrontation with Phoenix, presenting a formidable challenge for Jean and her Guardians. Although both Thanos and Perrikus have faced defeat in the past, the coalition of Jean, Carol, Rocket, Nova, and Sif will need to summon unprecedented strength and strategy to secure the galaxy’s safety.
As the new protector of the cosmos, Jean Grey has encountered numerous battles as a lone warrior. Now, she finally has her dedicated team—her own version of the Guardians of the Galaxy—standing ready to back her in a determined fight against Thanos.
