1) Paul C Brunson
Paul C Brunson, aged 50, is a highly regarded matchmaker and certified life coach. He has been a vital part of Married at First Sight UK since 2020. Besides his role on the show, he also contributes to the popular series Celebs Go Dating and serves as a relationship consultant for the television program Lorraine.
Originally from the United States, Brunson’s career began in investment banking and business. However, his passion for nurturing meaningful relationships led him to transition into matchmaking. His latest publication, Find Love, features the Long-Term Relationship Satisfaction Scale (LRSS), developed in collaboration with a renowned psychologist.
Brunson has been happily married to his wife Jill since 2000, and the couple has two sons, Kingston and Liam. His personal experience in sustaining a happy marriage provides valuable insights into his professional coaching.
2) Mel Schilling
Mel Schilling, a 52-year-old relationship coach from Australia, boasts over two decades of experience in human behavioral performance. She joined Married at First Sight UK in 2015 and is also a key figure in MAFS Australia. Schilling holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology along with a Graduate Diploma in Psychology.
Schilling’s personal journey has been challenging; she successfully overcame colon cancer, undergoing chemotherapy and surgery to remove a tumor. She shares her story openly, showcasing her resilience and strength.
In 2020, she married her Northern Irish husband, Gareth Brisbane, and they have a nine-year-old daughter named Maddie. Schilling’s extensive professional background combined with her personal experiences allows her to provide unique support to couples on MAFS UK.
3) Charlene Douglas
Charlene Douglas, 42, is a registered couples counselor and intimacy coach who joined the MAFS UK team in 2021, bringing a wealth of expertise. Her professional journey began in 2010, focusing on educating students about sexual health.
Douglas is also an accomplished author, having recently published Come Closer: Everything You Ever Wanted to Ask a S*x and Relationship Therapist just three months prior to the launch of the 2024 season of Married at First Sight UK.
Beyond her television role, the 42-year-old coach runs group workshops in London and provides support to couples and individuals through her private practice.
