On September 18, 2024, Michael Madsen filed for divorce from his wife, DeAnna, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple had previously separated in January 2022 and tragically lost their son, Hudson, who died by suicide while serving in the U.S. Army in Hawaii.
In his divorce filing, Michael Madsen alleged that his relationship with DeAnna was marked by abuse and toxicity. He also indicated that Hudson’s tragic death was linked to DeAnna’s alcohol addiction. Furthermore, Madsen has requested a domestic violence restraining order against her.
Michael Madsen previously shared his grief over Hudson’s passing in an interview with The Los Angeles Times in 2022. He expressed his shock, noting that Hudson died shortly after they had communicated via text. Madsen remarked:
“I didn’t see any signs of depression. It’s so tragic and sad. I’m just trying to make sense of everything and understand what happened. He had typical life challenges that people face with finances, but he wanted a family. He was looking toward his future, so it’s mind-blowing.”
Hudson’s death was first reported to Metro by family members, and a spokesperson for the Honolulu Medical Examiner confirmed to People magazine that he died from a gunshot wound to the head in a suspected suicide.
