The highly anticipated trailer for Bong Joon-ho’s science fiction black comedy film, Mickey 17, was unveiled on YouTube by Warner Bros. Pictures on September 18, 2024. As of now, the trailer has amassed over 3 million views and is currently trending at number 41 on YouTube.

Pattinson’s character is eager to abandon Earth and enrolls in the program, where he takes on the role of an expendable subject. However, turmoil arises when one of his newly created clones survives, leading to an intense confrontation between the two clones.

What is the release date for Mickey 17?

Mickey 17 is set to premiere in South Korea on January 28, 2025, followed by its theatrical release in the United States on January 31, 2025. Back in 2022, during the film’s production, Variety reported that Bong Joon-ho and the film’s team were originally targeting a 2024 release.

Unfortunately, this timeline was delayed due to the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes, which temporarily halted Hollywood operations. Significant disruptions and delays in the film’s post-production process also contributed to the postponed release date.
