My Hero Academia: Discovering the Unique Quirks of Each One For All User

One For All stands out as a remarkably potent and unique quirk in the My Hero Academia universe, having been inherited by various individuals throughout its history. Much like the quirk itself, each of its wielders possesses distinctive qualities that make them exceptional.

Created when All For One transferred his power-stacking quirk to his sibling, One For All’s origin is rooted in the complexity of dual quirks. Notably, many of its bearers, including his brother, had their own unique abilities prior to receiving One For All. While these individual quirks may not rival One For All in strength, they contribute significant power that has evolved over time, ultimately aiding Deku in his confrontations.

Last Updated: November 1, 2024, by Rei Penber: The Final War Saga of My Hero Academia has seen extensive discussion surrounding the One For All Quirk, prompting the author to delve deep into its backstory. The pasts and abilities of the One For All users, now referred to as the vestiges, have been pivotal, especially during Deku’s encounters with Shigaraki and All For One. As the series progresses, the destinies of the original quirks from former users of One For All have radically shifted. Consequently, this list has been revised to reflect these changes.

1 Quirk Bestowal

  • User: Yoichi
  • One For All User Number: First

Quirk Bestowal, the weakest ability among One For All users, was held by Yoichi, the inaugural user. His primary function was to transfer quirks between individuals, with his own capability limited to just this aspect.

Upon receiving All For One’s power-stacking ability, Yoichi’s Quirk Bestowal merged with it, ultimately birthing the formidable One For All.

2 Gearshift

  • User: Send
  • One For All User Number: Second

Gearshift is an extraordinary quirk that allows its user to alter the speed of any object they come in contact with, even bending the rules of inertia in the process.

This ability can adjust speeds up to four levels, with the fourth representing maximum velocity. Kudo was the original wielder who once led a rebellion against All For One.

Ultimate Fate Of Gearshift

Fans realized Gearshift was a capability that Deku could not maintain for extended periods due to its severe side effects, highlighted during his battle with Shigaraki. In a tactical move, Kudo devised a plan during this engagement leading to the transfer of the quirk to Shigaraki, resulting in Deku permanently losing this ability.

3 Fa Jin

  • User: Bruce
  • One For All User Number: Third

Fa Jin is a remarkable quirk allowing its user to gather kinetic energy and unleash it explosively at a chosen moment.

This potent ability, once held by Bruce, the third user, is currently harnessed by Deku within the One For All framework and has reached unprecedented strength.

Ultimate Fate Of Fa Jin

For Deku, Fa Jin was particularly advantageous, granting him substantial kinetic energy post-physical exertion. Furthermore, it enabled him to utilize Faux 100% of One For All; however, this is no longer feasible. Deku transferred this quirk to Shigaraki, resulting in its irrevocable loss.

4 Danger Sense

  • User: Hikage Shinomori
  • One For All User Number: Fourth

True to its name, Danger Sense is a highly practical quirk that enables the user to detect various forms of peril surrounding them, ranging from violent attacks to sinister motives.

This formidable quirk belonged to Hikage Shinomori, the fourth One For All user, and has significantly amplified in power, now utilized by Deku.

Ultimate Fate Of Danger Sense

The effectiveness of Danger Sense was unparalleled for Deku, granting him a sixth sense during battles and proving invaluable in moments of intense threat. Regrettably, this quirk was seized by Shigaraki and used against Deku, who once commanded it masterfully. In Shigaraki’s hands, it was equally potent, allowing him to evade many of Deku’s rapid attacks and counterattack with ferocity.

5 Blackwhip

  • User: Daigoro Banjo
  • One For All User Number: Fifth

Blackwhip is among the most formidable quirks at Deku’s disposal. It was previously wielded by Daigoro Banjo, the fifth One For All user, permitting him to generate whip-like tendrils from his body, providing him with exceptional combat versatility.

Since then, under Deku’s mastery, this quirk has evolved and now allows him great freedom in battle.

Ultimate Fate Of Blackwhip

During his showdown with Shigaraki, Blackwhip remained as Deku’s last standing quirk. However, when their memories clashed, a transfer occurred, resulting in Deku’s permanent loss of this ability. It played a crucial role in that confrontation, and without it, Deku would have faced dire defeat. Unfortunately, fans are left uncertain as to whether this quirk will ever return to Deku.

6 Smokescreen

Deku Smokescreen Quirk
  • User: One
  • One For All User Number: Sixth

En, the sixth One For All user, possessed Smokescreen, an ability that produces purple smoke to obscure enemies’ vision, allowing the user tactical advantages during confrontations.

This quirk can also assist in disguising the user’s attacks and providing cover for allies. En utilized this ability with considerable effectiveness, but All For One ultimately killed him. The quirk was passed on to Nana Shimura before her demise and then to All Might, and now resides with Deku, who has refined it meticulously.

Ultimate Fate Of Smokescreen

When evaluating the capabilities of the vestiges, Smokescreen may seem among the less advantageous quirk Deku wielded. Despite its use for offense and defense, especially after Shigaraki appropriated Danger Sense, its utility diminished significantly. Nonetheless, Deku managed to leverage this ability to confuse Shigaraki, landing impactful hits, but ultimately this quirk was lost to Tomura, likely never to return to Deku.

7 Float

Nana Shimura in My Hero Academia
  • User: Nana Shimura
  • One For All User Number: Seventh

Float is the quirk of Nana Shimura, the seventh wielder of One For All. This remarkable ability allows the user to levitate and navigate through the air effortlessly. While not the deadliest quirk, its strategic advantages in battle are significant, especially against a foe like All For One.

Like many before her, Nana met her end at the hands of All For One, but her quirk was transmitted to All Might, who became the eighth user before passing it on to Deku, the ninth and final successor of One For All, who has significantly enhanced this quirk.

Ultimate Fate Of Float

Float was instrumental for Deku, allowing him to evade Shigaraki’s Decay by hovering above ground. However, similar to many other powers, this quirk was ultimately lost to him. Inside Shigaraki’s memory realm, Nana intervened to protect Tenko and consequently, the quirk was transferred. Deku will never reclaim Float, and while it was a remarkable ability, it is now permanently gone.

Thus, this quirk’s legacy is extinguished, leaving behind only memories of its former power.
