NBA 2K25: 5 Pro Tips and Tricks for Advanced Gameplay

While Visual Concepts’ NBA 2K25 adheres closely to the series’ established formula and core gameplay, it introduces several exciting changes and new features. Longtime fans may have mixed feelings about these adjustments, but the game offers plenty of options, settings, and features to customize your experience and boost your performance. Additionally, we’ll share valuable tips for MyCareer and badge progression to enhance your gameplay.

MyCareer Teams

In MyCareer, you can live out your ultimate NBA dreams by competing against the best players in the world. After selecting your desired position, it’s crucial to pick the right team. Top-notch options include the Los Angeles Lakers and the Dallas Mavericks, which are ideal for any position. If you’re inclined to try out playing as a forward or guard, consider the Denver Nuggets and Oklahoma City Thunder. New players may find it beneficial to start with the Lakers to get accustomed to the game dynamics before settling on specific positions and teams.

Disable Adaptive Coaching (and Other Settings)

If you prefer to make decisions for your team rather than letting the CPU do it, navigate to the Settings menu and look for the Adaptive Coaching Engine. You can set it to Offensive, Defensive, or both, but to fully take charge, it’s best to turn it off. Additionally, ensure that Substitutions, Timeouts, Defense Playcalling, Offense Playcalling, and Late-Game Fouling are switched to Manual instead of Auto. This configuration enables you to maintain complete control over your gameplay strategy.

Fine-tune Shot Timing Profile

This year features some changes to the shooting mechanics, and not all players have welcomed them. To give your shooting a more familiar feel akin to previous titles, access the settings and adjust the Shot Timing Profile to Normal Risk-Reward, ensuring your jump shots are impacted as they should be.

Additionally, set the Shot Timing Visual Cue to Set Point, which provides the most reliable method for timing your shot release. For an added edge, navigate to the Customize HUD menu and disable the Visibility setting for Shots on the Shot Meter.

Disable Passive Dribble Hand Switches

The addition of Passive Dribble Hand Switches allows your player to execute random dribbling patterns. Since certain combos depend on which hand the ball is in, this randomness can disrupt your rhythm. Turning off this feature will help maintain consistency in your gameplay.

Badge Performance Multipliers

If grinding through The Dunes or The Temple in The City to enhance your Badges isn’t your style, consider exploring the Performance Multipliers section in MyCareer. Accomplishing specific objectives in various modes, such as Winner Takes All, can significantly accelerate your badge progression—this mode requires winning 30 NBA games after an encounter with Mikal Bridges.

These multipliers offer passive boosts to your badge progression based on certain conditions, including winning games, achieving an A- Teammate Grade, and competing against teams in the Top 10 Power Rankings. These elements can complement your badge grinding efforts, so it’s advisable to pursue them promptly.
