Initially unveiled at The Game Awards 2024, Elden Ring: Nightreign generated considerable excitement, especially with its focus on cooperative gameplay. However, as details unfold, certain limitations are becoming increasingly evident, leading to disappointment among the community.
According to an interview with IGN, FromSoftware has confirmed that Elden Ring: Nightreign will exclude crossplay functionality. This means that players on PlayStation 4 can only team up with those on PlayStation 5, while Xbox One players are limited to their Xbox Series X/S counterparts.
