New Game Freak Leaks Reveal Insights into the Origin of the Pokémon Universe

Recent leaks from Game Freak, known as the Teraleaks, have provided fans with intriguing insights into upcoming Pokémon games, as well as revealing some hidden details from prior releases. One of the most captivating leaks pertains to the untold mythology that shapes the Pokémon universe, initially conceptualized during the development phase of Diamond and Pearl back in 2005.

This draft not only uncovers a mysterious symbol linked to Arceus since its introduction among Mythical Pokémon but also shares a more elaborate version of Arceus’ origin story. Here’s a breakdown of the latest discovery in the rich lore of this cherished franchise.

The leaked diagram positions Arceus, Dialga, and Palkia at its core. This layout predates Giratina’s introduction, as illustrated by the inclusion of an additional central circle related to the Arceus event in Pokémon Heartgold and Soulsilver. The corners of this initial triangle feature the Sinnoh Lake trio, who are interconnected with Ho-oh, Lugia, and Regigigas.

Beyond this inner circle, Legendary Pokémon symbolizing land, air, and sea take their place. Notably, Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza show connections with other Legendary figures, alongside Pseudo-Legendaries such as Dragonite, Tyranitar, and Metagross. At the furthest edge lie the Mythical Pokémon available at that time, including Celebi, Mew, Jirachi, and Deoxys.

Additionally, there are names of Pokémon that have yet to be disclosed. Terms such as Smiley, Birthly, and Saan appear, leaving fans intrigued. Given that this draft dates back to 2005, these placeholders might have been more interpretable had Game Freak maintained the franchise’s mythological elements beyond the fourth generation.

New insights into Arceus’ origin story unveiled in Pokémon leaks

The foundational aspects of the newly revealed origin story remain aligned with the established narrative in the franchise. It tells of Arceus emerging from an egg in a vast void and subsequently creating the universe. Fresh details, however, indicate that the fragments of Arceus’ eggs engaged in a battle immediately after their emergence.

Following their victory, Arceus sustained injuries that compelled it to divide itself. The left half became Dialga, whereas its right half took form as Palkia. Arceus’ essence, mingled with the remains of its eggs, epitomized the world, while Dialga and Palkia were entrusted with its inhabitants.

To wrap up the narrative, Palkia and Dialga are named as the progenitors of all Legendary Pokémon, with the exception of the trios. Those trios were still crafted by their respective Legendary entities, as interpreted within the main series. After the creation of the Legendary Pokémon, Dialga proceeded to create all other Pokémon, while Palkia took on the role of humanity’s creator.
