Nick Cannon Comments on Mariah Carey’s Strength Following the Loss of Her Mother and Sister

Nick Cannon, who is recognized as the host of The Masked Singer, recently updated the public on the emotional state of his ex-wife, Mariah Carey, following the devastating loss of her mother and sister. Patricia Carey, 87, and Alison Carey, 63, tragically passed away last month. In an interview with Page Six, Cannon shared that Mariah, 55, is coping as best as she can under these heartbreaking circumstances.

“She’s doing the best that she possibly can, considering the circumstances.”

These comments were made by Nick Cannon, 43, on the red carpet at the Fox Fall Press Day event in Los Angeles.

“But as a family, we just got to be there to support one another, show love.”

“She’s really having a great time with the kids. That is, you know, the most important thing in the world to her, so it’s outstanding to see them supporting their mom the way they do,”Cannon added.

On August 27, Carey announced via social media that she had lost her mother and sister. While she didn’t provide intricate details surrounding their passing, she conveyed her grief through a heartfelt statement to the media:

“My heart is broken that I’ve lost my mother this past weekend. Sadly, in a tragic turn of events, my sister lost her life on the same day. I feel blessed that I was able to spend the last week with my mom before she passed. I appreciate everyone’s love and support and respect for my privacy during this impossible time.”

Cannon also discussed the challenges of raising their now-teenage children, particularly noting Monroe’s budding interest in beauty routines which mirrors her famous mother. He shared a touching yet amusing moment regarding Monroe’s newfound passion.

Describing a comedic incident about finding beauty products scattered throughout her room, Cannon recounted:

“My daughter, she’s wearing makeup now. She doesn’t wear it a lot, luckily, but it scared me. I was like, ‘Wow, you’re just like your mom.’ It’s beautiful to see, but scary all at the same time.”
