After its successful launch in May last year, Nine Sols has garnered a significant fan base. However, console gamers were left in anticipation, as it was initially only available on PC. Now, developer Red Candle Games has officially announced the release date for its 2D sidescrolling Metroidvania action-platformer on consoles.
Nine Sols is scheduled to launch on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch approximately two months from now, on November 26. Additionally, the game will be available on Game Pass at launch. For a sneak peek at the upcoming console release, check out the trailer below.
The game features a distinctive “Taopunk” aesthetic—a unique blend of cyberpunk visuals with influences drawn from Taoism and Eastern mythology. In terms of gameplay, it offers fast-paced, challenging combat reminiscent of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. With a runtime of 20-25 hours, players can expect a beautifully crafted world in New Kunlun, filled with exploration opportunities.
