Prime Video recently released episodes 7 and 8 of the popular series No Gain No Love, featuring a talented cast including Shin Min-ah, Kim Young-dae, Lee Sang-yi, and Han Ji-hyun, on September 16 and 17, respectively. The seventh episode kicked off with Nam Ja-yeon (Han Ji-hyun) reflecting on her traumatic past involving her abusive father, prompted by Yeo Ha-jun (Lee You-jin) who questioned her reason for transferring schools during high school.
The following scenes picked up from the previous episode of No Gain No Love, where Son Hae-young (Shin Min-ah), Kim Ji-uk (Kim Young-dae), and Ahn Woo-jae (Go Wook) found themselves asleep in a hotel room after a night of drinking. The next morning, Kwon Yi-lin (Jeon Hye-won) visited them and noticed the budding chemistry between Son Hae-young and Ahn Woo-jae.
Upon their departure from the hotel, Kwon Yi-lin revealed that Ahn Woo-jae was reassigned to Son Hae-young’s team and was dissatisfied with the change. Simultaneously, Ahn Woo-jae overheard Son Hae-young and Kim Ji-uk discussing their impending divorce. As episode 7 came to a close, a pivotal moment occurred when Son Hae-young kissed Kim Ji-uk, indicating a shift in their relationship.
No Gain No Love Episodes 7-8 Recap: Son Hae-young Uncovers a Shocking Truth About Kim Ji-uk
In episode 7 of No Gain No Love, the employees of Kkulbee Education discovered a fraudulent scheme orchestrated by a married colleague to obtain undue benefits from the company. This incident heightened Son Hae-young’s anxieties regarding her own faux marriage and led her to request Kim Ji-uk to behave more like a genuine husband in their workplace environment to avert any suspicions.
She even suggested that he move to her rooftop apartment to enhance their arrangement, to which Kim Ji-uk agreed, deciding to refuse any further offers from Bok Gi-ho (Choi Jin-ho).
Meanwhile, Nam Ja-yeon visited an orphanage to check up on Bok Gyu-hyun, who was there to fulfill his community service obligation. Upon encountering Nam Ja-yeon, Bok Gyu-hyun was taken aback and made efforts to conceal his identity as writer Yeon Bo-ra from Yeo Ha-jun.
With support from her housemates, Son Hae-young organized Kim Ji-uk’s belongings in her home and threw a house party, inviting her colleagues, including Ahn Woo-jae, Kwon Yi-lin, and Yeo Ha-jun, Bok Gyu-hyun’s secretary.
As episode 7 concluded, Kim Ji-uk went to the rooftop with his suitcase and their wedding photo, where Son Hae-young followed him and shared a kiss, ending the episode on a dramatic note.
In episode 8 of No Gain No Love, Son Hae-young confessed that Ahn Woo-jae was monitoring them from outside, which prompted her kiss with Kim Ji-uk. This revelation disappointed Kim Ji-uk, who believed she had feelings for him, contrary to what was unfolding.
Later on, Kim Ji-uk leaned in for another kiss; initially surprised, Son Hae-young ultimately reciprocated. During a conversation afterwards, he inquired about how far she was willing to go in maintaining their facade, suggesting that if she was committed to the act, he would also engage fully. Both felt remorseful for their actions and struggled to find sleep that night.
The following day, Kim Ji-uk attempted to make amends by assisting Son Hae-young with household tasks, but she proved to be proficient in all areas and required no help from him.
Kim Ji-uk also paid a visit to Son Hae-young’s mother, Lee Eun-ok (Yoon Bok-in), who suffers from dementia and fails to recognize her daughter. During their interaction, Kim Ji-uk expressed his affection for Son Hae-young, but Lee Eun-ok briefly remembered her daughter.
Meanwhile, Nam Ja-yeon met with Bok Gyu-hyun to inform him that she wished to withdraw the lawsuit against him, thereby preventing him from completing his community service, aiming to safeguard Son Hae-young’s position at his company. Bok Gyu-hyun apologized for concealing his identity, reiterating his commitment to complete the community service, emphasizing he was there as a wrongdoer rather than Son Hae-young’s superior.
In a tense moment, Nam Ja-yeon spotted her abusive father departing from the police station, causing her to panic. She grasped Bok Gyu-hyun’s hand, urging him to flee quickly. As they reached a nearby street, Nam Ja-yeon trembled with fear. Without needing to ask, Bok Gyu-hyun began humming a song from a nearby restaurant, helping to distract her from the harrowing experience.
He then proceeded to sing another track, which Nam Ja-yeon recognized as her comfort song, leading her to understand that Bok Gyu-hyun harbored no malicious intentions. Despite this, she reluctantly parted ways with him, expressing her desire not to meet again.
Later, a co-worker advised Bok Gyu-hyun to avoid actions that might upset Son Hae-young. After work, he penned a formal apology letter, vowing never to kiss her again, only increasing her ire. They eventually visited a furniture store, where Son Hae-young wanted to buy Kim Ji-uk a bed and a comfortable mattress, having realized he was sleeping on a hard rooftop floor.
Although Kim Ji-uk liked a mattress, he mentioned it was beyond his financial means. Son Hae-young insisted on purchasing it, assuring him that regardless of his daily struggles, he should sleep well at night, treading like a king. Kim Ji-uk responded that it was clear he had feelings for her, no matter how much she tried to play coy.
While dining, Kim Ji-uk continued to flirt with Son Hae-young, but she firmly rejected any notion of confessing her feelings. Upon returning home, Son Hae-young asked him to wait as she promised to consider dating him once she secured her promotion and resolved her work responsibilities, explaining that discussing their kiss was challenging in her current state.
By the end of episode 8, Ahn Woo-jae realized Son Hae-young and Kim Ji-uk’s marriage was a farce and made an outlandish proposal, asking her to date him again. The episode concluded with Bok Gyu-hyun barging into Kim Ji-uk’s rooftop room, inquiring if he was his half-brother, Bok Ji-uk. Just before Bok Gyu-hyun could finish, a shocked Son Hae-young demanded to know if Kim Ji-uk was Bok Gi-ho’s illegitimate son.
