No Gain No Love Spin-off Spice Up Our Love: Streaming Info, Release Date, Plot, and Cast Details with Lee Sang-yi & Han Ji-hyun

The highly anticipated spin-off drama Spice Up Our Love, featuring Lee Sang-yi and Han Ji-hyun as the lead actors, is officially set for release in October. This new drama is a spin-off of the popular tvN and TVING series No Gain No Love, which stars Shin Min-ah and Kim Young-dae, and is centered around its secondary lead characters.

In No Gain No Love, Lee Sang-yi and Han Ji-hyun portray secondary characters, but in Spice Up Our Love, they step into leading roles.

The show is created by Kim Hye-young, the writer of No Gain No Love, and is brought to life by CJENM STUDIOS in collaboration with Bon Factory.

On September 19, TVING announced that Spice Up Our Love will premiere on Thursday, October 3, 2024, on the VOD platform in South Korea and will also be available on the global OTT platform Prime Video.

Exploring the Plotline, Cast, and Connection to No Gain No Love

Spice Up Our Love revolves around the character Nam Ja-yeon, a 19+ web novelist who unexpectedly finds herself in her own story titled, “The CEO’s Menu” . Portrayed by Han Ji-hyun, Nam Ja-yeon assumes the role of the female lead, Seo Yeon-seo, within her novel.

Lee Sang-yi takes on the character of Kang Ha-jun, the protagonist of Nam Ja-yeon’s R-rated romance narrative. Kang Ha-jun is depicted as the CEO of GB Electronics, known for his cold demeanor, while Seo Yeon-seo serves as a nutritionist in the same company.

On September 19, TVING and Prime Video unveiled the first poster for the spin-off, generating excitement among fans. The romantic-themed poster features Lee Sang-yi and Han Ji-hyun in an office setting, with Lee holding Han close. The poster reads:

“I woke up to find myself in my own romance novel.”

The connection to the original tvN drama No Gain No Love is significant, as Nam Ja-yeon is introduced as a friend of the female lead Son Hae-young (played by Shin Min-ah). To disguise her identity as a 19+ romance web novelist, Nam Ja-yeon uses the alias Yeon Bo-ra.

Meanwhile, Lee Sang-yi‘s character in No Gain No Love, Bok Gyu-hyun, is a third-generation chaebol and CEO of Kkulbee Education, who is skeptical about love and marriage. His disdain for Nam Ja-yeon grows as he becomes her anti-fan due to her daring and sensual writing style.

According to a report from MBN on September 16, the production team expressed their enthusiasm for the spin-off, stating:

“Spice Up Our Love hasn’t been released yet, but we’re excited to expand the story of the sub couple in this spin-off. It’s a fresh endeavor, and we aim to provide a diverse range of enjoyment that caters to drama fans’ preferences. We hope for your interest and anticipation.”

Adding to the intrigue, Nam Ja-yeon discovers that the protagonist of her novel is not her ideal muse Yeo Ha-jun but her very own anti-fan Bok Gyu-hyun.

Episodes 1 and 2 of Spice Up Our Love are set to air on TVING and Prime Video on October 3, 2024.
