In Path of Exile 2, the crafting mechanism hinges on various Currencies, which empower players to enhance and modify their gear with distinct effects. While some Currencies, like the Regal Orb and Orb of Augmentation, are commonly encountered, others, including the elusive Exalted Orb, Orb of Alchemy, and Divine Orb, are scarce yet yield far more potent results.
Should you accumulate a surplus of a particular Currency and wish to exchange it for something of superior value, the Currency Exchange feature comes into play. This exchange platform is accessible after completing the main campaign and enables players to trade one Currency item for another based on current market valuations.
Unlocking the Currency Exchange
Accessing the Currency Exchange Post-Unlock
The ability to utilize the Currency Exchange is contingent upon successfully completing the main campaign. In the current Early Access version of Path of Exile 2, Acts 4 through 6 are not yet available. As a result, players transition into Cruel Difficulty to bridge the narrative gap between the end of the campaign and the endgame experience.
Within Cruel Difficulty, players enter a New Game Plus environment where challenges intensify. Although they start anew from Act 1, all items gathered by the conclusion of Act 3 remain intact. Upon embarking on this challenging path, the Currency Exchange becomes accessible at the Clearfell Encampment, as well as in subsequent hubs throughout the game.
To engage with the Currency Exchange, simply converse with the Gambling Vendor in town, where a new trading option for the Currency Exchange will be available. A click on this option will direct you to the Currency Exchange interface.
Utilizing the Currency Exchange in PoE 2
Exchanging Currencies Based on Market Values
While the Currency Exchange might initially appear intricate, its fundamental operations are quite straightforward. The exchange system allows players to select the item they wish to acquire by clicking on the “Want”box located in the top-left corner, where they can browse all available Currencies. Subsequently, players can click the “Have”box on the top-right to access their current Currencies across all inventories.
Once an item is selected, the exchange rate will be displayed, reflecting how much of your currently held Currency is required to obtain the desired item. If you have sufficient quantity of the “Have”Currency to purchase one unit of the “Want”Currency, confirm the values and your offer by clicking on both boxes. Finally, click the “Place Order”button at the bottom of the screen.
Following confirmation, the Currency offered will be automatically deducted from your inventory, and the requested item will appear in a new menu. Simply drag this item into your inventory to finalize the trade.
The pricing structure within the Currency Exchange is influenced by the demand and supply dynamics based on player activity. For instance, a surge in players seeking Exalted Orbs may cause the prices of other items to decrease correspondingly. These fluctuations can occur frequently, so players are encouraged to monitor the exchange rates and wait for optimal trading conditions if certain items seem overpriced.
