Path of Exile 2 is a vast gaming experience that, even in its Early Access phase, rivals the extensive storyline of the original Path of Exile. A significant aspect contributing to its length is the deliberate slower pacing of progression, larger map designs, and a reduced Currency drop rate, all of which create a distinct gameplay atmosphere compared to its predecessor.
An essential element that has remained constant between Path of Exile and its sequel is the Maximum Level achievable by players. In Path of Exile 2, gamers can reach the Max Level only after conquering both the Normal and Cruel campaigns. Each of these campaigns comes with specific Level milestones that players should aim to achieve before advancing to the next tier of challenges.
Understanding Max Level in Path of Exile 2
The Max Level in Path of Exile 2 remains consistent with the original, capping at Level 100. However, the journey to reach this pinnacle is considerably more challenging. Players must engage deeply with the game to fully maximize their builds and acquire all available Passive Skill Points.
It’s important to note that attaining the Max Level of 100 won’t be achievable simply by completing the main campaign or even the Cruel Difficulty repetition. Instead, players will find that the only path to reaching Level 100 lies in grinding through the endgame Atlas. As players progress, the experience (XP) required for each subsequent level increases exponentially, adding an additional layer of challenge.
Leveling Progression and Milestones in Path of Exile 2
Path of Exile 2 features three distinct gameplay brackets, each corresponding to different campaign phases:
- Normal Acts 1 to 3: Levels 1 to 45
- Cruel Acts 1 to 3: Levels 45 to 65
- Endgame & Atlas: Levels 65 to 100
As per the developers’ guidance, players are expected to conclude the Normal campaign around Level 45. Upon finishing the Cruel Difficulty, players should ideally be at Level 65. Progressing beyond this point to reach the Max Level involves extensive gameplay within the endgame content, specifically focusing on grinding the Atlas.
This innovative endgame system allows players to explore a dynamically generating network of zones, each potentially featuring unique events such as Breach and Delirium. Unlike the more linear campaign experience, the endgame offers a rich tapestry of content that mitigates repetitiveness, ensuring that pursuing Max Level remains engaging and exciting. With such a diverse range of activities available, striving for the Max Level in PoE 2 promises to be a rewarding adventure.
