Perfect Family Episode 11 Recap: Jin-hyuk and Eun-ju’s Journey to Adopting Sun-hui

Perfect Family debuted on KBS2 on August 14, 2024, captivating audiences with its compelling and suspenseful narrative. The drama is broadcast every Wednesday and Thursday at 9:50 PM KST, and viewers can also stream it on Viki and Viu in selected regions.

Starring Kim Byung-chul as Choi Jin-hyuk, Yoon Se-ah as Ha Eun-ju, and Park Ju-hyun as Choi Seon-hae, Perfect Family is directed by Yukisada Isao, drawing inspiration from the widely acclaimed webtoon by Nyangpa and Joo Eun. The storyline centers on Choi Jin-hyuk, his wife Ha Eun-ju, and their daughter Sun-hui, whose once-perfect lives spiral into chaos after they become involved in a murder investigation.

In this particular episode, Jin-hyuk and Eun-ju adopt Sun-hui after Sang-ho heroically saves her life, prompting Eun-ju to find her in an orphanage. The episode takes an unexpected twist as Hyeon-min arrives with a new scheme.

Perfect Family Episode 11: The Truth Behind Sang-ho’s Death

Episode 11 of Perfect Family kicks off with Hyeon-min picking up Sang-ho from school, asking him to keep an eye on Sun-hui in his office while he runs some errands. As they immerse themselves in video games, Hyeon-min spikes their apple juice before delivering it to them.

Concerned, Eun-ju attempts to contact Sang-ho on his phone, receiving no response. She promptly calls Jin-hyuk, who reassures her. Just at that moment, a member of the gang that was deceived by Hyeon-min confronts Jin-hyuk at his office, revealing that Hyeon-min has been masquerading as a prosecutor. Hyeon-min then takes Sang-ho’s phone after he and Sun-hui lose consciousness.

The police catch Hyeon-min in his office and arrest him, yet they are unable to locate Sang-ho. While in custody, Hyeon-min manipulates Jin-hyuk, telling him to help him if he wants to find Sang-ho. Infuriated, Jin-hyuk lunges at him but is restrained by police officers who inform him that Sang-ho’s phone was recovered with Hyeon-min, indicating his last known location was the office.

Recalling that a cabinet was oddly positioned during their search, they hurry to the office, bringing Eun-ju along with them.

Meanwhile, Sang-ho, conscious and unaware of the impending danger, accidentally ignites a fire in the room after switching on the light. As smoke fills the space, he locates a small window and helps Sun-hui escape first. He tries to flee through a larger window just as containers of highly flammable liquid ignite.

On their way, Jin-hyuk and Eun-ju receive urgent news that the office is on fire. Upon arrival, they find it engulfed in flames, prompting Eun-ju to break down in tears. Firefighters manage to rescue Sun-hui, who is unconscious, but Sang-ho is tragically lost to the fire.

With Hyeon-min in custody, concerns arise regarding how Jin-hyuk’s actions might affect his sentencing. Eun-ju, wanting to check on Sun-hui, is determined to care for the life that Sang-ho fought to save, leading them to decide to adopt her.

The episode then transitions back to the present where the police discover Su-yeon injured in the debris, while Jin-hyuk, having fallen into the sea, receives a floatation device thrown to him.

Post-incident, Sun-hui and Hyun-woo go grocery shopping. When Hyun-woo suggests they stay together, Sun-hui expresses her gratitude and parts ways. Back at the burned house where Sun-hui once lived with her parents, she tidies up the dining area and prepares dinner.

Upon Jin-hyuk and Eun-ju’s return, they encounter a cake Sun-hui made to honor Sang-ho’s birthday. The trio sits down to eat, with Sun-hui serving seaweed soup, her hands trembling. Jin-hyuk and Eun-ju share a knowing look before they begin their meal.

Reflecting on their last conversation, Hyun-woo becomes aware that something may be troubling Sun-hui. Back at home, Jin-hyuk and Eun-ju are found unconscious, revealing that Hyeon-min masterminded the entire plot. This marks the conclusion of episode 11 of Perfect Family.

The series finale of Perfect Family is slated to air on September 19, 2024.
