Event Schedule and Bonuses
The Magnetic Study event is scheduled to occur from Tuesday, October 15, 2024, starting at 12:00 AM local time until Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 11:59 PM local time. Here’s what trainers can expect in terms of event bonuses:
- Enhanced chances of finding Shiny Magnemite, Shiny Plusle, and Shiny Minun.
- Magnetic Lure Modules have an increased likelihood of attracting event-themed Pokémon.
- On October 15, earn 2× XP for catching Pokémon.
- On October 16, gain 50% extra XP from Raid Battles.
- On October 17, collect 2× Stardust for catching Pokémon.
Timed Research Details
Throughout the event, trainers will receive a new Timed Research task each day. Here’s what Niantic has announced:
October 15
- Daily featured Pokémon encounter: Plusle (with a chance for a shiny encounter).
- 5,000 XP rewards.
- 2,500 Stardust.
October 16
- Daily featured Pokémon encounter: Magnemite (with a chance for a shiny encounter).
- 1 Magnetic Lure Module as a reward.
October 17
- Daily featured Pokémon encounter: Minun (with a chance for a shiny encounter).
- 5,000 XP rewards.
- 2,500 Stardust.
These Timed Research challenges must be completed, and rewards collected before 11:59 PM local time.
Field Research Encounters
By finishing specific event-themed Field Research tasks, trainers can encounter the following Pokémon:
- Magnemite (with a chance for a shiny encounter)
- Plusle (with a chance for a shiny encounter)
- Minun (with a chance for a shiny encounter)
