Pokemon Unite Freezing Rush Update (Ver. 1.16.2.6): Battle Modifications and Balance Tweaks

This Ver. 1.16.2.6 update includes numerous tweaks to existing Pokemon, aiming to refine the overall gameplay experience. Below are some of the significant changes:

1) Alolan Ninetales

Alolan Ninetales has faced challenges in mobility and offense, leading to low usage and win rates. The adjustments have enhanced its ability to excel as a team-supporting Attacker that can engage in frontline battles. Key improvements include:

Increased defensive stats and reduced cooldowns on Avalanche and Blizzard allow for both effective attacks and counters against opponents.

Stats

  • Defense: 35-175 → 35-225 (Levels 1-15)
  • Special Defense: 27-135 → 27-175 (Levels 1-15)

Ability: Snow Warning

  • Cooldown: 8s → 4s

Avalanche

  • Cooldown: 8s → 7.5s

Blizzard

  • Cooldown: 8s → 7.5s

2) Machamp

Machamp’s Close Combat damage was insufficient, prompting a buff.

Previously, its Unite Move, Barrage Blow, required two stages that allowed opponents to evade. Now, the move initiates consecutive punches immediately, enhancing its effectiveness in battles.

Close Combat

  • Damage: +10%

Unite Move: Barrage Blow

  • Mechanics revised: Punches now activate immediately upon use.
  • Stat boosts adjusted upon activation.

3) Armarouge

Armor Cannon’s damage was too high while its hindrance capabilities were lacking. As such, Armor Cannon’s damage has been reduced, and Psyshock’s cooldown is now shorter. Additionally, the shield from Flame Charge has been cut back, and Fire Spin has gained a shield effect rather than boosts to defense.

Armor Cannon

  • Damage: 10% decrease

Psyshock

  • Cooldown: 8s → 7s

Flame Charge

  • Shield amount: 50% decrease

Fire Spin

  • New effects indicating speed increases and shields applied upon damage dealt.

4) Charizard

Charizard’s damage output was higher than intended for all move paths, so the bonus from basic attacks on burned targets has been lowered.

The significant buff in usability for Seismic Slam has resulted in its energy cost rising, and Fire Blast’s crowd control effect has been toned down.

Basic Attack

  • Bonus damage on burned targets: -50%

Fire Blast

  • Movement speed reduction: 35% → 30%

Unite Move: Seismic Slam

  • Energy needed: +20%

5) Urshifu

To promote more counterplay options against Urshifu, the cooldown reduction for boosted attacks has been decreased. However, Surging Strikes’ damage has increased slightly.

Boosted Attack (Rapid Strike Style)

  • Cooldown reduction: 2s → 1.5s

Surging Strikes

  • Damage: +6-5% (Lv. 5-15)

6) Blastoise

Blastoise’s durability has been enhanced, improving late game performance to maintain its role as a Defender.

Key boosts include higher defense growth and increased durability during Rapid Spin.

Stats

  • Defense: 100-600 → 100-650 (Lv.1-15)
  • Special Defense: 70-420 → 70-455 (Lv.1-15)

Hydro Pump

  • Cooldown: 7.5s → 7s

Surf

  • Cooldown: 9s → 8.5s

Rapid Spin+

  • Defense and special defense increase: +50%

7) Delphox

Due to Delphox’s high win rates, the damage from Mystical Fire and Fire Blast has been reduced to balance its performance.

Mystical Fire

  • Damage: 8% decrease

Fire Blast

  • Damage: 10% decrease

Fire Blast+

  • Damage: 9% decrease

8) Snorlax

Snorlax receives buffs for defending allies during late-game encounters, while Flail and Yawn have also seen improvements to enhance their utility.

Block+

  • Defense increase: 25% → 35%

Flail

  • Duration of speed boost: 3s

Yawn

  • Cooldown: 12s → 10.5s

9) Dragapult

The power of Dragapult using Phantom Force to stack KOs rapidly has been curtailed by lowering the attack gain from KOs.

Phantom Force

  • Attack increase per KO: 10 (up to 10 times) → 6 (up to 10 times)

10) Lucario

Lucario receives a cooldown decrease on Extreme Speed, allowing for quicker returns to battle.

Extreme Speed

  • Cooldown: 9s → 7.5s

11) Gyarados

To address Gyarados’s high win rate, the damage from moves like Bounce and Dragon Breath has been toned down.

Dragon Breath

  • Attack speed increase: 40% → 35% (at levels)

Bounce

  • Cooldown: 7.5s → 8.5s
  • Damage: 10% decrease

12) Mamoswine

To balance Mamoswine’s strength in early battles, the damage of Icicle Crash has been reduced while increasing the cooldown for Earthquake.

Earthquake

  • Cooldown: 7.5s → 9s

Icicle Crash

  • Damage of first to third hits: Approx. 10% decrease

13) Zoroark

In light of Zoroark’s poor performance, its damage output from primary moves has been improved.

Feint Attack

  • Damage: +9%

Night Slash

  • Cooldown: 9s → 8s

14) Dragonite

To balance Dragonite’s power post-evolution, the damage and crowd control from its boosted attacks and Outrage have been reduced.

Boosted Attack

  • Duration of stun effect: 0.6s → 0.5s

Outrage

  • Damage from boosted attacks: -10%

15) They cry

The high mobility and damage output of Cramorant using Dive has been lessened by extending the cooldown.

Dive

  • Cooldown: 1.5s → 2s
  • Recovery time for charges: 5s → 6s
