“Quite Hurtful” — Ellie Comments on Aesha’s Behavior Following Carrie’s Arrival on Below Deck Mediterranean Aftershow

Season 9 of Below Deck Mediterranean premiered on June 3, 2024, showcasing plenty of drama and romantic entanglements aboard the yacht. A major highlight of this season was the introduction of a new cast member, Carrie, which significantly altered the crew dynamics. Ellie felt that Carrie was attempting to take charge, causing tension between her and Aesha Scott.

According to other crew members, Ellie was apprehensive about the new stew potentially seizing an opportunity that she had been eyeing. Throughout her journey on the show, Ellie learned immensely under Aesha Scott’s mentorship and appreciated her guidance. However, their relationship took a turn following the episode titled Chain of Command-ment, which aired on September 16, 2024.

During the Below Deck Mediterranean Aftershow that day, Ellie expressed that Aesha’s treatment of her was “hurtful.”She felt she had been cast aside without a chance to explain her side, which left her feeling disrespected. Ellie acknowledged that she held Aesha in high regard, and Scott’s abrupt behavior took her by surprise. She stated:

“The way Aesha was treating me towards the end was quite hurtful. I felt like I stood on my head the entire season to please Aesha. I respected her, I valued her opinion a lot, and it meant the world to me to impress her.”

Ellie further emphasized that she did not receive similar respect in return, despite her unwavering admiration for Aesha as her leader and mentor:

“So for her to kind of discard me in the end, without having enough respect for me to just ask me first, to try to communicate first, allow me to explain, it really, really hurt.”

“I never intentionally overstepped”— Ellie reflects on her relationship with Aesha Scott in Below Deck Mediterranean

In the Below Deck Mediterranean Aftershow, Aesha Scott provided her perspective, noting that Ellie was “designating jobs”to other crew members, prompting Aesha to caution Ellie not to “overstep”her role as the second stew in episode 16.

Ellie defended her actions, insisting she never meant to undermine Aesha’s authority. She described Aesha as her “lead”whose decisions she respected. Ellie stated:

“I never intentionally overstepped. If anything, this entire season I’ve tried my best to not overstep. I’ve always given her respect that she is the lead.”

Ellie recounted instances that showcased her respect for Aesha, noting that she would avoid walking ahead of her during guest interactions and refrained from interrupting whenever Aesha was taking charge. Ellie clarified that her requests for assistance were not meant to redirect others from Aesha’s commands:

“If I was calling the girls to come and help me at any point, I was just asking if there was somebody available to help. I never meant it to sound like, ‘Oh, stop doing what Aesha said and come do what I said.’
