While Karate Kid: Legends is not a direct sequel to the popular series Cobra Kai, it holds the potential to resolve a longstanding discussion surrounding the Netflix spin-off. The anticipated return of Jackie Chan as Mr. Han marks his first appearance since 2010, and this new installment aims to honor the legacy of the franchise while paving the way for its future direction. Ralph Macchio’s portrayal of Daniel LaRusso in the original 1984 film kickstarted the Karate Kid franchise alongside Pat Morita as Mr. Miyagi. Out of the five films within the franchise, Macchio has starred in three. However, he was succeeded by Hilary Swank’s character, Julie Pierce, in 1994’s *The Next Karate Kid*.
