Rapper Diddy’s Lawyer Marc Agnifilo Claims Prosecutors Denied His Client’s Surrender

Rapper Diddy’s Lawyer Marc Agnifilo Claims Prosecutors Denied His Client’s Surrender

In a recent interview, Sean “Diddy”Combs’ attorney, Marc Agnifilo, mentioned that the rapper intended to surrender a few days before his arrest, but the prosecutors rejected his offer. On September 16, Diddy was taken into custody facing serious charges, including “racketeering conspiracy; sex trafficking by force, cause or coercion; and transportation to engage in prostitution.”

The next day, Agnifilo appeared in an interview on CNN’s *The Source With Kaitlan Collins*, where he stated that his client had flown to New York on September 5 to surrender.

“The most important thing … is that Mr. Combs came to New York on September 5. As soon as we realized that this indictment was going to be coming down in a matter of weeks, maybe months, but sometime soon, Mr. Combs got on a plane, left his home in Florida, and flew to New York,”he shared.

He further elaborated,

“I called the prosecutors myself. I said: ‘Mr. Combs is in New York. Do you want to know where he is? If you want to know where he is, I’ll tell you where he is, but he wants to surrender. He’s here to surrender.’

The lawyer argued that prosecutors were not interested in allowing Diddy to surrender because a surrender would eliminate their ability to argue that he was a flight risk. During Diddy’s arraignment on Tuesday, prosecutors requested the judge deny him bail, labeling him a “serious flight risk.”

Diddy’s attorney was aware of impending formal charges since March 25

During the CNN interview on September 17, host Kaitlan Collins inquired about when Agnifilo knew Diddy would face formal charges. The lawyer recounted that he learned of this when Homeland Security conducted raids on the rapper’s residences in Miami and Los Angeles on March 25.

“I really knew he was formally going to face charges on March 25, the day of the searches. When Homeland Security searched his Los Angeles and Miami homes, as well as his airplane, I recognized that day from the search warrants – I mean, I’ve been doing this for a while. This isn’t my first or 100th rodeo – that this was going to come as a matter of time,”he remarked.

During the raids, authorities seized firearms, narcotics, and 1000 bottles of baby oil. They also uncovered evidence of “freak offs,”which were events allegedly organized by Diddy where he coerced women to participate in “elaborate and produced sexual performances” with male sex workers for his enjoyment.

The indictment detailed that the “freak offs,”often documented, could last for days, requiring the rapper and victims to utilize IV fluids to recover from exhaustion and substance use. It is also claimed that Diddy and his associates made threats of violence to keep victims, witnesses, and employees silent.

Diddy has pled not guilty to all charges but was denied bail. Agnifilo lodged an appeal against this order on Wednesday, which was also denied. In a press conference on Tuesday, the attorney asserted that his client is innocent.

“Mr. Combs is a fighter – he will fight this until the end. He is innocent. He came to New York to establish his innocence. He is not afraid – he is not afraid of the charges. He has been looking forward to clearing his name, and he is going to clear his name. We believe in him wholeheartedly. He didn’t do these things,”he stated.

The ongoing sex trafficking case against Diddy remains active as of the time of this article, with the rapper currently held at the Metropolitan Detention Center following the denial of his bail.
