Recap of Episode 11
The Defeat of Lille Barro
Captain Kyoraku faced a dire situation after utilizing his Bankai against Lille Barro, mistakenly believing he had attained victory. To his shock, Lille retaliated with a beam of light, striking Kyoraku directly in the chest. As he struggled against Lille’s onslaught, Nanao Ise returned to the battlefield, requesting her inherited Zanpakuto from Kyoraku. Interestingly, Nanao had no personal weapon but possessed one passed down through her family, which Kyoraku had hidden to shield her from its curse.
Taking command of the fight, Nanao deftly wielded the ancestral sword, using it to deflect Lille’s relentless assaults. Flashbacks reveal her tragic family history—how Kyoraku’s brother fell in love with Nanao’s mother, only to succumb to the Ise family curse, ultimately leading to her mother’s execution for the alleged misplacement of the Zanpakuto. These memories highlight Nanao’s bond with Kyoraku and the circumstances of her joining his Squad.
As the battle intensified, Nanao summoned the strength to reflect another of Lille’s attacks. Supported by Kyoraku, she managed to turn Lille’s power against him, leading to his demise as he shattered into feathers.
