  • Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth requires a substantial 155 GB of free storage space.
  • A minimum of 16 GB RAM is essential to run the game, irrespective of the graphical settings.
  • Though rumors suggest a potential Xbox Series X/S port, no official announcements have been made regarding its release date.

Square Enix has officially shared the system requirements for the eagerly anticipated Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on PC. The announcement came during The Game Awards on December 12, revealing that the game will launch on Steam and the Epic Games Store on January 23, 2025.

This title marks the second installment in the highly acclaimed Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy, having originally debuted in early 2024. Players can expect Cloud and his allies to venture beyond Midgar, exploring iconic locations such as Gold Saucer, Cosmo Canyon, and Nibelheim. Critics have lauded the game’s innovative combat mechanics, rich character development, expansive open-world environments, and engaging side missions.

With the confirmation of the PC version, the system requirements have raised eyebrows due to their hefty specifications. Gamers will need a minimum of 16 GB of RAM, as well as 155 GB of available space on a solid-state drive (SSD). For those targeting lower settings, running at 30 FPS and 1080p necessitates an AMD Ryzen 5 1400 or an Intel Core i3 8100. However, to achieve 60 FPS at 2160p, players will require a more powerful setup, such as an AMD Ryzen 7 5700X or an Intel Core i7 10700, aligning with current standards for AAA titles.

Unlike its predecessor, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will not feature any downloadable content (DLC). Players can access all significant content upon purchase. Additionally, the PC version promises upgraded texture quality, superior lighting effects, and support for Nvidia’s DLSS technology, ensuring an enhanced gaming experience.

As attention turns to the PC release, it’s notable that the Xbox Series X/S remains the only major contemporary platform without access to the Final Fantasy 7 remake series. However, Naoki Hamaguchi, the director of FF7 Rebirth, has expressed his desire for these titles to be available across all platforms, hinting at potential future developments. For now, fans should remain cautiously optimistic about these possibilities.
