RUN JIN Episode 6 Recap & Highlights: BTS’s Jin and Lee Yi-kyung’s Hilariously Chaotic Friendship Moments

On September 17, 2024, BIGHIT MUSIC released the newest episode of RUN JIN on BTS’ official YouTube channel, BANGTANTV. Episode 6 featured the popular South Korean actor Lee Yi-kyung, famous for his roles in hit dramas like Marry My Husband and Welcome To Waikiki.

The Epiphany singer-songwriter warmly welcomed Lee Yi-kyung, sharing anecdotes from their long-standing friendship that has lasted over a decade, dating back to when Jin was a 19-year-old high school student. He revealed that they both attended the same acting school and formed a bond during that time.

The evident chemistry from their 17-year friendship shone through from the very beginning of the episode. Jin playfully teased Yi-kyung for not having watched a single episode of Run BTS!, while the BTS star humorously fell into the trap by incorrectly naming Youth Over Flowers as one of Yi-kyung’s shows.

The episode was filled with comedic moments as Jin and Yi-kyung bickered over missed points in their tennis game and celebrated each point won against two young tennis players. Viewers were treated to both hilarious and chaotic scenes, especially when Jin comically confronted the kids for selecting Jungkook as their favorite BTS member.

The latest RUN JIN episode focused on the BTS idol’s love for tennis. However, Jin was unaware of the guest and the game segments chosen for the episode. The first segment involved the two celebrities practicing tennis under the coach’s guidance.

The coach provided a box filled with unconventional tennis gear for the idols to select their racquets, which included items like a frying pan, a wooden spatula, and a grill plate. The comedic atmosphere on the tennis court heightened as Jin hilariously struggled to figure out how to play with these kitchen items.

During the game, Jin accidentally hit Yi-kyung on the knees with the tennis ball twice. The Marry My Husband actor dramatically pretended to fall, likening it to an “assassination attempt,”which added to the humorous tone of the episode.

In the second segment, they competed alongside two kids, aged 11 and 12, who have been playing tennis professionally for over six years. While playing, Jin maintained his playful demeanor, celebrating and teasing the kids each time he and Yi-kyung scored points.

This provoked the young players, who vowed to defeat the BTS idol and Yi-kyung with a dominating 7-0 score. However, when Yi-kyung asked the kids to grant the singer-actor duo two game points, they obliged. Jin confidently joked about his impending victory, even though he and Yi-kyung ultimately lost both matches by significant margins.

The episode concluded with Yi-kyung and Jin competing to hit numbered targets with tennis balls. The objective was to hit the numbers vertical, horizontal, or diagonal three times in a row, allowing the winner to leave first, while the loser had to keep hitting until they succeeded.

Yi-kyung emerged victorious, and Jin humorously confessed to using underhanded tactics but still managing to lose to the actor.
