Although initial news about the live-action She-Ra surfaced in 2021, updates have been sparse, yet the project appears to be reviving and taking definite shape.
In a promising update, Variety has confirmed that production on Amazon’s live-action She-Ra is officially advancing, with Heidi Schreck attached as the writer and executive producer. Renowned for her Tony-nominated play What the Constitution Means to Me, Schreck has also contributed to well-known series including Billions and Nurse Jackie, alongside Amazon’s I Love Dick, featuring Marvel’s Kathryn Hahn and Kevin Bacon, and AMC’s Dispatches from Elsewhere. Collaborating with Schreck, Robin Sweet, known for her work on Better Call Saul, also serves as an executive producer, while DreamWorks Animation, the studio behind the Netflix reboot, is in on the action. Notable director Nicole Kassell, celebrated for her direction on Watchmen, Castle Rock, The Americans, Westworld, and The Leftovers, is part of the executive production team. With such an impressive assembly of talent, Amazon’s She-Ra live-action revival promises to be a standout for both longstanding fans and new viewers.

Known as Adora, She-Ra was revealed to be the long-lost twin sister of He-Man and a former captain of the Horde, later branching out into her own animated spin-off, She-Ra: Princess of Power.
