How to Tackle the Khmer’s Hidden Gate Puzzle in Sukhothai
During the main mission titled “The Blessed Pearl,”players guide Indiana Jones through the winding rivers of Sukhothai in search of the mystical Yeak. Along this journey, he encounters a formidable ancient gate, which obstructs entry to the enigmatic Hidden Pyramid. To advance, players must activate the individual components of this ancient gate.
In the following sections, we will break down the steps to successfully solve the Hidden Gate puzzle, enabling you to progress further into the storyline.
Locate All Three Cogwheels
To begin, you need to collect three cogwheels essential for operating the left and right gear trains necessary to solve the puzzle.
The first two cogwheels are conveniently located within the main puzzle area, adjacent to the respective left and right gear trains. For the third cogwheel, maneuver through a gap beside the left gear train mechanism. Here, ascend the platforms until you reach the top, where you can collect the elusive third cogwheel.
Activate the Main Mechanism
With the third cogwheel in hand, you are now ready to tackle the Hidden Gate puzzle. Look for a chain ahead that can be interacted with using your bullwhip.
Use your whip to yank the chain, which releases water onto the wooden wheel, thus kickstarting the main mechanism. Now, head back to the main room to activate the left and right gear trains.
Engage Both Left and Right Gear Trains
Once you return to the main chamber, begin by inserting the cogwheels into the Right Gear Train, located at the top right corner. After placing all three cogwheels, pull the lever to activate this mechanism.
Next, turn your attention to the Left Gear Train. Insert the cogwheels on the middle left side, and once again pull the lever to engage this gear train.
Finalize the Khmer’s Hidden Gate Puzzle
With both gear trains successfully activated, you have resolved the Hidden Gate puzzle. All that remains is to turn the wheel or dial located on the side of the room, initiating a cutscene that reveals the pathway and allows the boat to sail forward.
