After acquiring a breathing device from Tongdang’s Hut, Gina informs Indy about the mysterious disappearance of a child named Aran, who is Sunan’s nephew. This revelation sets in motion the side quest titled The Kid Who Vanished Fieldwork in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
In this quest, players join Indy and Gina as they venture into a temple located in the Wat Si Sawai region, with the aim of finding Aran. This temple, historically a training ground for warriors, is expected to present a variety of puzzles, particularly challenging pipe puzzles.
The Kid Who Vanished Fieldwork Quest In Indiana Jones And The Great Circle
To get started on this quest, follow the designated marker on your map leading towards Tongdang’s Hut. Your investigation begins at the Tree House, where you must climb the ladder and lift a wooden plank to uncover a letter from Aran. This clue confirms that he is hidden somewhere within Wat Si Sawai. From here, you can use a boat or fast-travel to your next destination.
Upon reaching Wat Si Sawai, make sure to don the Royal Army outfit to safely access the Khmer Warrior Temple. If you choose not to wear the outfit, you’ll need to sneak past guards or engage in combat. Once inside the temple, continue forward until you reach a room filled with rubble, where you’ll hear Aran’s voice calling for assistance, revealing that he is trapped.
To assist him, first pivot to the left and pull the lever with Gina to unlock the door. Using a lighter, illuminate the surroundings before taking the only Pipe Segment available and inserting it into the pipe slot. This action will allow water to flow through, unlocking the nearby door. Proceed to the next room, where you’ll encounter a platform that needs to be raised in order to reach Aran.
How To Raise The Platform In Indiana Jones And The Great Circle
From where you are, move forward, then turn left to traverse across the frozen cogwheels towards another area. Ascend the fallen beam and continue uphill. As you walk, a wooden platform connected to a massive cogwheel will appear. Time your jump to land on it quickly, then leap forward. Wait for Gina to catch up before descending to discover another pipe segment puzzle that awaits.
To successfully raise the platform, follow these steps:
- Activate the left water source by turning the wheel on the left.
- Retrieve the Pipe Segment and place it into the pipe slot in front of the closed door to open it.
- Enter to collect another half-circle Pipe Segment.
- Exit the room and set the new segment aside.
- Insert the first Segment into the other slot, then place the half-circle Segment into the previous slot facing west.
- Work together with Gina to push the giant cogwheel and pull the lever beneath to exit the room.
With the platform now raised, it’s time to locate Aran.
How To Reach Aran In Indiana Jones And The Great Circle
Once the puzzle is complete, head to the left and navigate across the now-functional cogwheels until you can ascend the tree root. Wait for a cogwheel to create an opening, then proceed through. Utilize a combination of jumping and swinging with the whip to reach the large cogwheel, crawl beneath it, and through the subsequent door before pulling the lever to elevate Gina.
The next door will be locked, so Indy and Gina must activate the lever simultaneously to gain access. Proceed down the stairs, bypass the cogwheels, and turn right. Pull a nearby lever to construct a bridge, then cross it to confront another pipe puzzle that must be resolved to reunite with Aran.
How To Solve The Pipe Puzzle In Indiana Jones And The Great Circle
To solve the pipe puzzle effectively, first, ensure the left water source is activated, as the right one already is. You will also need to locate four Pipe Segments. Start by climbing the left ladder and pulling the lever to activate the left water source.
Two Pipe Segments are available on either side of the room, specifically segments (1) and (3). Access them by climbing the left and then the right stairs. Segment (2) is situated within the room adjacent to a jar of torches, and segment (4) is located behind a locked door. To unlock the final segment, follow these steps:
- Insert the T-shaped Pipe Segment into the middle pipe slot facing east.
- Place a half-circle Pipe Segment in the pipe slot adjacent to the closed door, also facing east.
Once the door opens, retrieve the final Pipe Segment to complete the puzzle.
At the end of the pipe puzzle challenge, you will find three main pipes, each directing water to a drain. The objective is to strategically position the Pipe Segments so that all three pipes are channeling water into corresponding drains:
- The middle pipe slot should contain the T-shaped Segment (1).
- The pipe directly below it should hold the half-circle Segment (3).
- The right-hand side should have the other half-circle Segment (2).
- Finally, position the straight Pipe Segment (4) on the left side.
Refer to the accompanying images for visual guidance on positioning the segments correctly.
Once you correctly assemble the pipe puzzle and water flows as intended, proceed through the newly opened door to meet Aran. Engage in a brief conversation and follow him to his secret room where an ancient relic awaits discovery. Conclude the quest by returning to Uncle Sunan in the Village to inform him of Aran’s decision to explore the temple further.
