As players embark on their journey through the rich environments of the Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered, they will encounter new challenges designed to enhance their gameplay experience. One such challenge involves deciphering tricky puzzles, including the intricate wall paintings featured in the Silenced Cathedral.
Within the confines of the Silenced Cathedral, players will soon discover that enemies are not only more elusive, but they also regenerate health at a faster rate. Adding to the suspense, these foes can attack from above while players navigate through various puzzles, emphasizing the need for swift and strategic puzzle-solving skills.
Solving the Silenced Cathedral Wall Paintings Puzzle
Upon arriving at a room adorned with paintings, players will encounter cube-shaped slots along the walls and scattered blocks. To navigate this puzzle effectively, players must align the blocks so that the correct images face upright before slotting them into their respective positions. The technique is straightforward yet requires precision.
To proceed, identify a block’s rightful place and flip it so the image is oriented correctly before continuing to adjust it. Stand on either side of the block and rotate it until it fits perfectly. Once aligned, players can grip the block and slide it safely into the slot. A distinct sound indicating a successful placement will affirm that the correct block has been utilized.
Note that there is a unique exception on the north wall—the higher slot that stands apart from the others. This particular challenge serves as a precursor to another intricate block puzzle involving stone pipes, offering valuable practice to hone problem-solving skills.
Instructions for Flipping the Final Block Up
To tackle the final block, positioning is key. Arrange the block so that the image faces the correct direction. Stand behind it and flip it onto its side, ensuring it is in the optimal position against the wall below its designated hole. Next, rotate the block from the reverse side, pushing it up while maintaining the image orientation to secure it within the slot.
Should a mistake occur, players can reposition two blocks in front of the hole, moving the erroneous block onto one of them for another attempt. This process allows for repeated practice and refinement. Later, players will encounter a more complex version of this puzzle, rewarding those who succeed with an artifact collectible.
