Shift Up has unveiled an exciting holiday event for Stellar Blade, scheduled to debut on December 17. Aimed at enriching player experience, this latest update promises a wealth of new content and festive cosmethics as part of a series of ongoing enhancements to this acclaimed action-adventure game.

Since its introduction in late April 2024, Stellar Blade has rapidly ascended to one of the most celebrated titles for the PS5, despite some criticism surrounding the design of its protagonist. Following its successful summer update that saw a remarkable 40% increase in active players, Shift Up is keen to usher in a holiday spirit that players can relish during this joyful season.

Deconstructing the Holiday Event: Festivities, Music, and Mini-Games

In a recent PlayStation Blog announcement, DongKi Lee, the technical director of Stellar Blade, shed light on the forthcoming event. Players can expect the vibrant city of Xion to transform with a stunning Christmas tree and festive lights, while the local pub, The Last Gulp, receives a charming overhaul as well.

Players will have the chance to immerse themselves in a cozy atmosphere featuring two new music tracks, “Dawn (Winter)”and “Take Me Away,”enhancing the seasonal experience in the game’s camp area. Additionally, a brand-new mini-game will be introduced, offering unique rewards for players daring enough to engage. Furthermore, the update will include delightful new cosmetics such as Eve’s Santa Dress and Adam’s ‘I’m No Santa’ outfit, complete with customizable accessories. Even the Drone can join in the festivities, sporting a charming Rudolph-themed costume.

Interestingly, this festive update isn’t time-limited—players can activate or deactivate it as they wish, allowing for ongoing seasonal fun. Recent feedback and interest in crossover content like the Nier: Automata DLC have encouraged the developers to look into further collaborations in the future. Notably, last month’s update included Photo Mode and four additional outfits for Eve, along with enhancements to character options and various bug fixes.

Looking Ahead: Stellar Blade’s PC Release in 2025

After much anticipation, it has been confirmed that the PC version of Stellar Blade is projected to launch in 2025. While the publisher’s identity remains under wraps, Shift Up is optimistic about the PC release, expecting it to achieve even greater sales than its PS5 counterpart. The developers are dedicated to ensuring that both current and future players continue to enjoy an enriched gameplay experience.
