Steps to Unlock the Beast Buddha in Black Myth: Wukong

The Beast Buddha is a unique Curio that can be acquired in Chapter 3 of Black Myth Wukong. However, there is a challenge to obtaining this Curio, as it is a random item drop from one of the more difficult elite enemies in this chapter. Similar to other rare Curios in the game, such as the Tiger Tendon Belt and White Seashell Waist Chain, the Beast Buddha offers a powerful perk.

Since it is a random drop, acquiring it is not as straightforward as simply finding it in a treasure chest. Fortunately, there’s a straightforward method to farm the Beast Buddha in Chapter 3 – specifically in The New West. While farming for this Curio may require some end-game items, it is also possible to obtain it without them, although this comes with a significantly lower drop rate.

Where to Locate the Beast Buddha Curio in Black Myth Wukong?

The Beast Buddha can be obtained by defeating the Dual-Blade Monk, located near the New Thunderclap Temple in Chapter 3 of Black Myth Wukong – titled The New World. The Dual-Blade Monk appears in several locations around the Thunderclap Temple. However, because they are elite enemies, defeating the Dual-Blade Monk will pose quite a challenge.

These enemies can be easily defeated once you progress to New Game+, but during a standard New Game, taking down Dual-Blade Monks at the Thunderclap Temple can be quite taxing. Moreover, they possess a substantial amount of hyperarmor, similar to several bosses within Black Myth Wukong.

To complicate matters, the drop rate for the Beast Buddha is quite low, particularly without utilizing Curios and gear that enhance drop chances. Thankfully, players can revisit the New Thunderclap Temple at any point in their playthrough to farm the Beast Buddha Curios.

The optimal farming spot for the Beast Buddha is the Towers of Karma Keeper’s Shrine located in the Valley of Ecstasy. From this Shrine, taking an immediate left will lead you to a solitary Dual-Blade Monk, who respawns after resting at the Shrine. Alternatively, you can also farm a Dual-Blade Monk near the Thunderclap Temple Entrance Shrine.

To increase the drop rate for the Beast Buddha Curio, it is recommended to equip the Golden Carp Curio and the Skull of Turtle Treasure. The Golden Carp is acquired by defeating the Yellow Loong in Chapter 4 – The Webbed Hollow, while the Skull of Turtle Treasure can be obtained from the Turtle Treasure enemy encountered in Black Myth Wukong.
