“Stray Kids Discuss Their Musical Journey: The Power of Strong Friendships Forged Through Challenges”

On September 18, 2024, Rolling Stone published an exclusive interview with the popular South Korean K-pop group Stray Kids, where the eight-member band reflected on their musical journey. During this engaging conversation, member Changbin shared insights on how their friendships have been forged through various challenges as they ventured into their careers as a band. He stated:

“The strongest friendships are honed with fights. Now we can say our bonds are stronger.”

Following this sentiment, Han openly acknowledged that it had nearly been eight years since the group was formed, including their trainee years. He elaborated that it had been almost ten years since he began living with the other members of Stray Kids.

Stray Kids’ Han revealed he would cherish his friendships for life

Discussing Stray Kids‘ musical journey, Han emphasized the lasting friendships he has formed with his bandmates, even amidst different opinions and occasional conflicts. He remarked:

“Sometimes we have differences of opinions, and sometimes we have conflicts, which is totally normal, but at first, I felt like they were my companions as they shared a dream and a goal to work together. Then that relationship turned more into friends that you keep for the rest of your life, and now it’s changing again.”

The 24-year-old expressed that he regards his fellow band members as family, longing for their company when apart, highlighting the remarkable nature of their bond.

Meanwhile, Lee Know, the second oldest member of Stray Kids, mentioned that he faced no difficulties living with the other members, remarking that his experience as a student made it enjoyable rather than challenging. Seungmin humorously commented that getting to know one another initially was ‘terrible’ before living in close quarters.

Han continued sharing experiences from the group’s journey, indicating that the initial phase was the most awkward. The Stray Kids members had to meet to familiarize themselves, and once that phase concluded, they began living together.

In addition, Seungmin spoke about how the members grew closer over time, noting:

“It didn’t change, but it got deeper. We live together, we play music together, we dance and sing together, enjoy the stage together. We talk a lot about what we have been doing recently and what thoughts we are thinking about these days. These kinds of talks get deeper.”

Changbin highlighted the band’s shared ambition of achieving success together, expressing excitement about their common dream and the bond it has created amongst the group.

In recent developments, Stray Kids released their ninth mini-album, ATE, on July 19, 2024, under JYP Entertainment.
