Recent updates confirm that Leone’s Terrifier 3 has outperformed Todd Phillips’ Joker: Folie A Deux in ticket sales, which is quite a feat given the stark contrast in production budgets. While Leone’s third installment produced a modest $5 million budget, it has clocked in over $30 million globally. In contrast, Joker: Folie A Deux, made for a staggering $200 million, has garnered more than $167 million, resulting in a significant financial deficit for Phillips’ film.
Damien Leone has shared insights about the future of this influential independent horror series, stating that Terrifier 4—already confirmed—may indeed be the last for Art the Clown. “While I can’t provide a clear-cut answer regarding how many films are left in the ‘Terrifier’ story, I personally doubt it will go beyond one or two more films,”Leone shared during an interview with Variety. He added, “I have the ending in mind, and it will be epic.”
