The Alchemist is set to launch his highly anticipated new album titled THE GENUINE ARTICULATE, which will be available on all major streaming platforms this Friday via ALC.
Alan Daniel Maman, widely recognized as The Alchemist, is officially following up on his collaboration album Black & Whites, featuring Hit Boy and Big Hit, which was released back in May.
This record producer’s upcoming LP, THE GENUINE ARTICULATE, was announced this week after the release of the album’s lead single Ferraris In The Rain (Feat. ScHoolboy Q), which debuted on May 10, 2024, across all major streaming platforms.
On September 16, The Alchemist shared an official announcement on Instagram for THE GENUINE ARTICULATE by revealing the project’s album art along with the complete tracklist, which features collaborations with Action Bronson, Big Body Bes, Conway The Machine, Larry June, and Havoc.

Analyzing The Alchemist and ScHoolboy Q’s Lead Single ‘Ferraris In The Rain’
Last week, Alan The Alchemist treated fans to the first taste of his forthcoming album THE GENUINE ARTICULATE with the release of the official lead single titled Ferraris In The Rain (Feat. ScHoolboy Q).
This track was made available on streaming services alongside an official music video that was streamed live on The Alchemist’s YouTube channel on September 10, 2024. The visual, directed by New High Filmz, showcases both artists performing the track amidst luxurious cars including Ferraris and Maybachs.
Alan’s production on Ferraris In The Rain is heavily influenced by jazz, noticeable through the intricate drum sequences and samples used throughout its composition. ScHoolboy Q’s delivery perfectly complements the song’s low-tempo vibe. Noteworthy themes explored in this record include:

ScHoolboy Q kicks off the track with lines that flaunt a life of luxury and opulence, referencing extravagant jewelry and high-end vehicles.
The introduction is captivating as he seamlessly melds his flow and rhythm into the beat, asserting his dominance and presence in the rap scene.
“I be guardin’ sixty seconds flat (Out here) / I’m a vintage stepper, Stacy Adams shoes with a Stetson hat (Yeah) / Don’t make me come out of my stage ensemble (Do it) / My latest combo, danced on the work, did the macarena and the mambo / I slide electric, worldwide respected (Uh)”
Q continues with sports references while dubbing himself a “vintage stepper,”a nod to his more than a decade-long career in hip-hop starting from 2007.
He also alludes to American fashion brands Stacy Adams, known for dress shoes, and Stetson, famous for cowboy hats and fedoras.
“The method’s been tried and tested / Chew on the track but this stomach acid digested / Luther prepare a naked section and then I dressed it / You puttin’ lipstick on the pig, can’t slap a bow on the bum / Wrap a ribbon around his wig and make him crisp (The f–k you doin’, man?)”
ScHoolboy Q’s delivery becomes more intense, while the music video captures The Alchemist seated in a Mercedes Maybach, engaging directly with the camera as he lip-syncs.
Q touches on his reputation once more, defiantly addressing critics of his skills. Culinary allusions permeate this section, emphasizing the rapper’s lyrical craft and artistic flair.
“I’m a genuine article (Uh) / The jammy’s a food processor, it’ll blend you into particles / Inside a venue, I’m Spartacus (Me) / I’m the finisher, you still working with a starter kit (Come on) / That boy is buggin’, he got bars to spit”
ScHoolboy Q cleverly references The Alchemist’s forthcoming album, THE GENUINE ARTICULATE, calling himself a “genuine article.”
He further associates himself with Spartacus, the historical gladiator famed for leading a pivotal revolt against the Roman Republic.

The hook’s introduction, mirroring the nursery rhyme “Rain Rain Go Away,”sees Q yearning for his struggles to vanish while addressing themes of intimacy, rivalry, and success.
“The Rolls grill, is that the pearly gates? The big clock, it got the bumper face (Face) / Hmm, the all-whites, I got s–t to say (Say) / Fell out the sky, s–t to say, hmm”
The hook concludes with ScHoolboy Q metaphorically equating driving a Rolls Royce to entering the “pearly gates”of heaven. The lyrics encapsulate themes of wealth, self-reflection, and prestige.
Ending on a reflective note, the song features an outro with a conversation between ScHoolboy Q and The Alchemist discussing the current landscape of rap. The dialogue reveals the rapper’s lasting “love for the game”while offering caution to aspiring artists, hinting at the industry’s more challenging aspects.
